clogs by lola101x featuring Vince tops Lauren’s outfit Love them or hate them, clogs have played a huge role in fashion this season, and it looks like they’re going to be clinging on by the tips of their wooden heels well into next season, too – have you seen the fur-lined versions that are coming out for winter? Clogs aren’t always the easiest things to wear, though, so last week we challenged you to show us what kind of outfit you’d put together to wear with them, assuming you absolutely HAD to wear them. Here’s what you came up with! Thanks to everyone who took part in this challenge: remember to leave us a comment to tell us which outfit…
If you’re anything like us, you’re probably sick to death by now of hearing about how very “on trend” clogs are right now. We’re not going to tell you that. Instead, we’re simply going to ask you what you’d wear with clogs, if you absolutely HAD to wear them. And to make it interesting, we’re going to turn it into a Style Challenge, and ask you to submit a Polyvore set to show us your outfit. Sound simple? The clogs in question are Jeffrey Campbell’s ‘Charli C’ clogs, which are $124 at Solestruck. You’ll find the rules of the game under the jump: we can’t wait to see what you come up with! Denim Corset by ECunningham featuring Hermes bags Ellie’s outfit Last week we asked you to come to the aid of Fashion Police reader Moni, by providing some styling suggestions for a denim corset top. And here’s what you came up with!
This week’s Style Challenge is a request from Fashion Police reader Moni, who owns a top similar (although not quite the same) as the one shown above, and who wants to know how her fellow readers would style it. Can you help Moni decide how best to wear this top? That’s your Style Challenge, should you choose to accept it! You’ll find the rules of the game under the jump – good luck, and have fun!
Emily’s outfit So, what DO you wear with cowboy boots? That was the question we posed in our Style Challenge last week, and here are your answers. The outfits submitted feature everything from pretty dresses to casual jeans, and from glamorous evening gowns to classic cowgirl style. We think the answer to the “what to wear with cowboy boots” question, then, is “whatever you want!” If you treat them just like any other pair of boots (which is, after all, what they are), you’re limited only by your imagination. We’ve put all of your sets into one post, which means we couldn’t add a poll, so please feel free to nominate your favourite outfit in the comments section, and let…
We’ve had a couple of questions on Formspring recently about what to wear with cowboy boots, and while we’ve given our answer over there, we thought we’d pass the question on to our readers, and turn it into a Style Challenge. What would you wear with cowboy boots (assuming that you absolutely had to wear them)? Your challenge is to head over to Polyvore and put together an outfit using the boots pictured above. Next week, we’ll publish your outfits, and the question will be answered for once and for all! Before you get started, though, take a look under the jump to read the rules of the game:
Lauren’s outfit It’s time to look at the results of our last Style Challenge, and find out the many different ways in which you chose to answer the question, “What would you wear with a denim mini skirt?” We’re taking a slightly different approach to the results this week, and have put them all on the same page, so you can totally immerse yourselves in denim skirts, and tell us which look is your favourite. You’ll find the rest of the entries underneath the jump. Thanks to everyone who took part!
It’s been a long time since our last Style Challenge, so we thought we’d ease you back into things with a (fairly) easy one: the denim mini skirt! Denim skirts are one of those items which never really disappear from the stores, or from some people’s wardrobes, but they’re far from universally loved either, and, once you’re past your teens, can be a little tricky to incorporate into an outfit. How would you do it, whether teens, twenties, thirties or above? The skirt above is from Miss Selfridge, and we challenge you to use Polyvore to build an outfit around it, and post the link in the comments section below, as inspiration to us all! You’ll find the rules below…
It’s the third and final installment of our nautical-themed Style Challenge, so don’t forget to vote for your favourite outfit in the poll you’ll find at the end of this post! Look out for our grand final tomorrow, in which you can help choose the overall winner! 1. Fréderique’s outfit TheFashionPoliceStyleChallenge. by Freejtjuh featuring Ralph Lauren outerwear
Last week we challenged you to create a nautical style outfit using one of the many, many striped dresses/tops that can be found in the shops at around this time every year. Now it’s time to take a look at the results, so sit back, relax and enjoy Part 1 of our nautical-themed Style Challenge. Remember, you’ll find a poll at the end of the post, to allow you to vote for your favorite outfit! 1. Lauren’s Outfit: The Fashion Police Nautical Challenge by mysterycreature featuring Free People jackets
Our last Style Challenge was our toughest yet, so this time around we thought we’d go easy on you and just have some FUN. Nautical-style stripes tend to come around every Spring/Summer, so we’d hesitate to call them a “trend”, but there are a lot more of them in stores this year than usual, so this should hopefully be a really easy one: the challenge, however, will be in trying to come up with something different from everyone else! The item we’ve chosen for this challenge is technically a dress, but we reckon it could easily pass as a top, too, so it should give you a bit of extra versatility. (You can buy it here.) You’ll find the rules…
Sara Bimmel writes… We’re on the cusp of spring (FINALLY!), and that means leggings and tights will soon start to crop up everywhere. I know they’re fair-weather winter wear, too, but spring is the season when they’ll actually feel comfortable and won’t result in goosebumps all over your legs. I often have trouble figuring out what to pair with leggings that will look classy instead of ’80s, so I put together this set to show my thoughts. You can see that there are a few common themes: 1) Prints with solids. Generally speaking, if your leggings have a lot going on, don’t pair them with a Hawaiian shirt, and vice versa. You can see that both the shoes and the…
We’ve finally reached the end of our latest Style Challenge, in which we asked you what you’d wear with a pair of Vivienne Westwood’s Rocking Horse shoes. This was probably our toughest challenge yet, so first of all, our thanks to everyone who took part, and put together an outfit to wear with these! You’ll find the top three outfits, as voted by you, under the jump: do they inspire you to actually wear the shoes, though?
It’s the third and final part of our Vivienne Westwood Style Challenge, which means that the outfit with the most votes from today’s batch will be the final one to go through to the grand final tomorrow. Take a look under the jump to see the rest of the outfits, and don’t forget to place your vote in the poll you’ll find at the end! 1. Well, judging by the comments on our latest Style Challenge, Vivienne Westwood’s Rocking Horse shoes are definitely one of the tricker items we’ve given you to style! We were pleased to see so many of you accepting the challenge, though, and we think you did pretty well! Read on to see the first selection of entries, and remember to vote for you favourite in the poll you’ll find at the bottom of the post! 1. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s one of Vivienne Westwood’s Rocking Horse shoes, and it’s the subject of our latest Style Challenge, in which we want you to use Polyvore to build an outfit around these shoes. Sounds simple enough, no? Oh. No, you’re right, it doesn’t sound simple, but of course, that’s the whole point! This Style Challenge was the suggestion of Rock Hyrax and, like her, we’re really curious to see what you’ll make of these shoes (which, by the way, you can buy at My-Wardrobe, if you so desire). You’ll find the rules under the jump: please take a moment to have a quick look over them before creating your outfit!
Thanks to everyone who took part in our last Style Challenge, in which we asked what you’d wear for a Valentine’s Day date. There were some amazing entries this week, and we’ve thouroughly enjoyed looking at them all (and wishing we owned most of them!). You’ll find the three outfits which polled the largest percentage of the vote under the jump. Well done to the three winners, and don’t forget to vote for your overall favourite!
