T.U.K Buckle Platforms. Are clown feet suddenly in fashion?

I’ve never been a fan of "novelty" shoes – or novelty anything, come to think of it – so I was taken aback, to say the least, when I discovered these T.U.K platforms over at Viva La Diva, which usually sells shoes that are a little more mainstream, and a little less like something you’d see on Coco the Clown. Now, I know Halloween is coming up, and I guess I can sort of see how some people would find these a fun shoe for a spot of dress-up. Would you wear them as a fashion item, though? Is this where the Spice Girls reunion is taking us?

These shoes are not made for mainstream fashion. They are mainly aimed at the gothic lolita subculture and are very popular at camden market.
(for those whose dont know what Lolita is type it into google)
They are really comfortable and do not look like clown shoes. The picture does not do them justuce.
Crocs and Uggs are bad footwear for any subculture… these are not.

I actually really like them. You just have to wear them with the right stuff. They’re deff. not for everyone, though.

I think the ones on the right are a little much. (The pattern anyway) But I really like the ones in the middle. (I love gothic lolita type stuff) And the ones on the left would go with the music lolita dresses. Like this one: http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/showProduct.asp?id=1073&pageNumber=1&pageStop=stop_9&noSubType=N
Probably with white knee length socks with white frills edged in black ribbon. A white with black detail hair bow. It would probably look cute.

I think they’re ugly, subculture or no subculture.
I think platform shoes are fine, but the square toe just makes it look so clumsy! And the buckles look pretty cheap too. I’ve seen similar ones that looked much more attractive, with a daintier toe and better quality material.
