They’re arguably the most famous family in the world. We’ve watched their triumphs. We’ve watched their heartbreaks. We’ve watched them eat giant bowls of salad over and over again. Ever since Kim Kardashian’s, well, uh, “home movie” came out over a decade ago years ago, the Kardashians have become pop culture and fashion icons. We see them walk every red carpet. At any given time, there are multiple Kardashians on multiple magazine covers. Khloe is looking chic as ever while pregnant. Kourtney is often spotted looking fabulous alongside her model boyfriend. The theme of Kylie’s (top secret) baby shower was millennial pink and Kendall is the top-paid model in the world. Kim’s entire Instagram account has it’s own style – yes, even her Instagram account has more style than you! With all that and more, it’s no wonder that the Kardashians have left a major footprint on the fashion world (a thigh-high denim clad footprint). To commemorate fashion’s favorite family, we’d like to take a look back at some of their finest fashion moments…
In 2007 Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered on the E! network. Audiences were immediately immersed into the chaotic Kardashian family and their wild antics. The three eldest Kardashian girls spent most of their time working at their fashion boutique, Dash. The small fashion nook garnered such popularity through the reality show, the family soon opened multiple locations around the country.
Building off of the new Dash locations, Kourtney and Khloe starred in their own spin-off show called Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami in 2009. There would soon be multiple spin-off series to showcase the various Dash locations, like Kourtney and Kim Take New York and Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons. While all of the spin-off shows have since ended, Khloe Kardashian is still playing a large part in the fashion industry. She recently launched her own clothing label, Good American. Good American carries jeans, bodysuits, sweats and more. The entire line is designed to fit multiple body shapes and sizes, making it easier for girls with curves to find clothes that fit them and also look good!
What would the fashion industry be without the two youngest Kardashian women? Kendall and Kylie Jenner may have been little girls when we first met the Kardashian family, but they’re now established fashion entrepreneurs. In 2012 Kendall and Kylie launched their very own fashion line at PacSun. The boho-inspired line quickly became one of the best-selling brands ever carried at PacSun. The two are still very much involved in the fashion industry. Kendall walks the runway for the top designers in the world, while Kylie has her own highly successful makeup line.
We can’t talk about the Kardashians without talking about Kim Kardashian, or rather Kim Kardashian-West. Kim had always been a prominent figure in fashion, ever since Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered at least. Her influence in the fashion world became even bigger when she married rapper and designer Kanye West. Kanye West’s Yeezy line features sneakers, pants, shirts, outerwear and more. The line is known for its unconventional cuts and neutral shades. If you’ve seen recent pictures of Kim, you’ve likely seen her sporting pieces from the Yeezy line. Aside from the wildly popular fashion brand, the couple also made headlines for their famous Vogue cover in 2014. Four years after it’s release, people are still debating whether a reality star and rapper should have been featured on the cover. Say what you will about their other endeavors, the whole Kardashian clan definitely deserves their place in the fashion world!
