Dress of the Day: Marc by Marc Jacobs 60s style tunic dress

Marc_jacobs_tunic_dress_2Lord knows we don’t always see eye to eye with Marc Jacobs, but we’re willing to forgive him some of his milder fashion transgressions for the sake of this dress, which is perfect in its simplicity.

Matches describe this as “60s style” and we’d have to concur. We’re sold on the high, leather-trim neckline, which is a little bit sci-fi, and we also like the way it’s shown on the site, worn with bright purple tights and heels, although we think the suggestion of trying it with a brightly coloured polo neck underneath could be an interesting way to wear it on cold winter days, too.

If you have the legs for it, this is £270 at Matches.

It’s absolutely perfect, the best dress of the day in ages! It reminds of the sci-fi movies from the 60s, or the French new wave!

    Rock Hyrax

Not sure about the back though – wouldn’t it give you a strange side profile?

I think it looks like a chinese-food-restaurant-waitress uniform.
