Holey Clothes: crochet shorts at Topshop

Topshop toffee crochet shortsWe can only hope that these are meant as some sort of swimwear cover up for the beach.  If they’re not?  Then they have no reason to exist.  And if they are designed for the beach?  For the love of Gaga won’t someone think of the tan lines!

The Topshop website gives no clue as to why they are in existence, and just shows them (sans underwear) on a mannequin’s legs.  Presumably they couldn’t find an actual person willing to put them on.

What do you think though?  Would you be willing to wear these – to the beach or elsewhere?  If so, they are £36 from Topshop.

Ok, what’s with all the crocheted clothing coming out lately?

Isn’t everything made out of yarn awfully annoying when it’s hot enough for short shorts anyway?

I think they’re cute, but I can only think of one purpose for them: ballet cover-up shorts. I have a similar pair (in form and fit–no crocheting), and they’re great when you want SOMETHING covering your behind, even if it’s barely there.

    Well, I must say… I don’t know.
I mean it’s mot ugly or anything but for which purpose?
Maybe as a beachwear, worn over the bikinis?
If it had a lining you could think of wearing it as shorts but, apparently, it doesn’t.
