Fraud Squad: Alloy V. Ugg

We know, we know – they’re not your favourite footwear in the world, but Uggs do have their fans, and it would seem that Alloy are among them: we found these "sweater boots" retailing for $49.50, and looking pretty darn similar to Ugg’s crocheted boots, on the left of the picture above, which are rather more expensive at $120. What’s the difference? Well, not having tried either of them, we can’t tell you, but we do know which pair we’d buy – IF, of course, we were planning on buying a pair of knitted, knee high boots in the first place. Which we’re not. Obviously.

Not a fan of Uggs, but I have to say that the Ugg version looks higher-quality, imho. Still wouldn’t buy either pair!

I think these are very cute for wearing at home in the middle of winter.

    Amanda Nicole

When I first started complaining about having to be to subjected to Uggs on the street, my guy thought I had dubbed them “ugh” boots due to their hideousness. These are just as ugh.

I own 2 pairs of Koolaburra tall boots and they are fantastic. They do not look good or bad, they are made to keep your feet warm and they do it perfectly.
Of course I’d never buy fake UGG boots, but only true merinos aussie ones.
I always warn people about UGG having stolen the mark and making cheap chinese boots and market them all over the world.
This is one of the rarest case where the supposed to be original brand is the fake one!

Sorry everyone, but I actually like Uggs! I think these are pretty cute; and it’s a good imitation, too.
