Crime of Fashion: Two tone tights

I have a deep-seated horror of anything that could be described as "wacky" or "kerraazzzy!", so when I saw these two-toned tights over at Fashion Binge I almost recoiled from the screen. And to think it’s not even Halloween yet! These are from American Apparel (who else?) and come in a whole slew of different colours. Good for court jesters, not so good for anyone else, no?

Would also be useful for a pippi longstocking halloween costume. any other uses?

unfortunately for me, I see how these could work…
in a pajama-like, american apparel sort of way.

This is actually a nod to Rudi Gernriech, the 1960s designer, and his model of choice, Peggy Moffit. Many of his shift designs were worn with 2-tone tights. It’s absolutely a Mod/Go-Go thing. I love them, in fact, I’m glad to know there are pre-made ones, as I’ve been making my own for a while now. With a simple a-line shift and some tall boots, this looks really fantastic (it also helps to have a cute little Sassoon 5-point haircut and big lashes)
