Charlotte Olympia’s striped ‘Genie’ wedges: could you walk in them?

The Fashion Police's uniform generally includes a pair of high heels of some kind, and the higher the better. So we're not daunted by platforms. When  Shoeperwoman drew our attention to these ones by Charlotte Olympia yesterday, however, we found ourselves suffering an unexpected attack of vertigo, and then wondering if we could perhaps use them on our prisoners, to stop them running away.

We do agree with Shoeperwoman that they're fantastic shoes to look at, but would it be a case of "look, but don't touch" or do you have every confidence that you could wear these with ease?

If you do, they're $1,060 from Louisa Viaroma. Ouch.

I’d definitley give them a try. I think they’re quite pretty.. in a huge and clunky way.
I have a huge pair of silver sequin Office wedges which are similar, but nowhere near as extreme.

I don’t wear anything with an ankle strap like that, and these would be particularly…omg, can you IMAGINE stepping the wrong way, the shoe goes on it’s side taking your foot with it and your ankle hits the floor vertically…*CRACK*. Your foot is completely dislodged from your leg. Yeah…would not wear these. Screams of agony are not sexy.

I’m quite tall and have large feet naturally, so platforms don’t excite me. Too bad, because it is a cute idea that could give some real pizazz to a more modest heel.
