We all love fashion and showing off our style, but can we all follow the latest trends? A lot of people feel that their age affects how they can or can’t dress, and that’s not really the case. Technically, you can dress however you want at any age. The question is should you wear certain things after a certain age? We’re answering the question: Are you too old to wear these five fashion trends?
Stiletto heels are one of the most iconic fashion items of all time. Who doesn’t love rocking a sexy stiletto?! Stilettos can elevate any outfit and actually shape the leg, making it look longer and leaner. The best thing about stilettos is that you can wear them at any age! The only thing that can stop you from wearing these sky-high heels is if you’re one of the many people who trips in heels. Other than that, no matter how old you are, feel free to strap on those stilettos!
2. Graphic Tees
Graphic tees are always on trend, but can you wear them at any age? The answer to this one is “yes and no.” We’d say, anyone under the age of 25, feel free to wear your graphic tees wherever you, however often you want. As for everyone over 25, let’s keep the graphic tees to the confines of our homes. There’s just something about a t-shirt with the MTV logo on it that doesn’t exactly scream maturity, right? So go ahead and retire these shirts to your lounging wardrobe once you enter your late twenties.
3. Crop Tops
A crop top is a pretty bold fashion choice for a lot of people, and there is an age limit on it, if you ask us. We’d say that anyone in their late thirties and up should stray away from the crop tops. This has nothing to do with your body type of how the shirt fits you, but rather the association that comes with a crop top. They’ve always been reserved for younger people. How many older women do you see wearing crop tops? Not many. They’re a great fashion trend, but they do have an age limit.
Do you feel comfortable in leggings? Do you feel that you look good in leggings? Go ahead and wear your leggings at any age, then! Leggings have no age limit, as far as we’re concerned. In fact, you can change up the way you wear your leggings if you want them o reflect your age better. Leggings can be worn under a dress, with a long tunic, under a hoodie – whatever.
5. Low-Rise Jeans
You are too old for low-rise jeans. We don’t even need to know how old you are to know that you are too old for low-rise jeans. That’s because no one should ever wear these fashion monstrosities. Low-rise jeans rose to popularity in the late 1990’s and then disappeared from the style radar in the late 2000’s – and for good reason! These unflattering jeans often reveal way more than anyone wants them to and they don’t belong in your closet at any age.
