Fashion Police at the 2009 BAFTAs: Kate Winslet, Freida Pinto, Alesha Dixon, Thandie Newton, Marisa Tomei

It was another triumphant night for Kate Winslet, but was it a triumph stylistically? We liked this black Zac Posen gown, but found it just a little on the boring side. Loved the hair, though, and Kate looked as glamorous and groomed as ever. What do you think?

More pictures of BATA arrivals under the jump!

Freida Pinto was pretty in this pink ruffled Oscar de la Renta dress, which is the kind of thing we wouldn’t expect to like, but which actually looks fantastic on her.

Alesha Dixon also went for ruffles, but in her case, perhaps a few too many of them?

Thandie Newton’s vintage gown may just have been one of our favourites of the night.

Marisa Tomei went for a one-shouldered gown by Etro: we likey.

Thandie Newton – maybe, if it didn’t look like she tried to lengthen a too-short gown by wearing it too low on her chest. Her boobs are almost down to her waist!
I do LOVE Kate Winslet’s ensemble, though – especially the hair! SO Old Hollywood!
