When sequins go wrong: tulip shaped sequin ‘Gaga’ dresses

Well, folks, Christmas has been and gone, which means it’s time to take down those tired and tawdry old bits of tinsel and other past-their-best decorations: which, funnily, enough, is exactly what these sequined dresses remind us of. Why are they so wide? Is that a hoop under the skirt? Hmmm. Never mind the “no white after Labor Day” thing (Which always struck us as nonsense, anyway), we think we should implement a “No sequins after New Year” rule. Do we have your backing on this readers? Or do you think these could still have a place in your January wardrobe?

Well the website is called “Missguided Fashion” so they got that part right 🙂

I’m being too harsh…I’d actually buy the silver one and put in on one of those wire mannequins to use as a lamp in my home. But I would never ever wear it.

Snap! My initial thought was that they were lampshades. Seriously ugly lampshades mind.

I don’t think sequins should EVER be limited by season. I say sparke and shine anytime! Now… these dresses should probably be limited to wear between December 1 and January 1 unless the wearer is walking a red carpet or shooting a video… Basically, don’t try them at home without professional supervision lol

Eeek! These look so uncomfortable as well as hideous! They look more like some kind of stools used in the theatre than dresses to me!

I though they were party decorations. Dresses? Now thanks.

Haha, I didn’t realise it was the shop that called them Gaga dresses! It’s worth going there and zooming in to see the ugly netting under the sequins…

I love me some sequins, but these look like they’re not quite as well made as the Barbie dress I had when I was a girl that turned into a purse.

I don’t think the rule should be “No sequins after New Year’s”. More like “Minimal sequins after New Year’s”. And this is definitely not minimal. Or pretty.

I’m with Katie. No ALL OVER sequins, I’ll give my vote to. But I have a lovely cardigan that has a sequin detail on it, that I wouldn’t hang up just because it’s past NYE.
