Wear or Die: Ugly Dress Edition

ugly dressesAs it’s Friday, what better way to spoil everyone’s good mood than with a quick game of Wear or Die?

For those of you just joining us, here’s a quick rundown of how it works:

1. The Fashion Police have selected two items of clothing for you (above).

2. You must choose one of them to wear.

3. You must wear the item exactly as it’s shown in the image: so no “wearing something/under it” or doing anything to radically change its appearance. Sorry.

4. Death is not an option.

And with that out of the way, we invite you to make your choice between the two dresses we’ve picked out for you: the sheer, Comme des Garcons creation on the left (why, yes, it DOES look like the model isn’t wearing any underwear: fancy that!) or the pieced-together mess of a dress by Maison Martin Margiela on the right. (And oh yeah, SHE doesn’t seem to be wearing much either, poor thing!).

So, which will you choose?

After SERIOUS consideration, and putting the noose away, the sheer Comme De Garçon. Why? I live looking like a naked ghost. But in its own way , it is kind of beautiful ( I am away to take my meds now )

The nude colored one has a rather ghostly feel about it. The black…looks like it was glued together in the dark. Forced to choose between the two, I will pick the nude. I shall then take to roaming the corridors of old houses pretending I’m a ghost.

I think I too would have to go for the nude one….only because the black one is marginally worse!

Hmm, i’d go for the black one, I hate it just 1% less than the ghostdress…

I prefer the black one. They’re both hideous, but at least the black one won’t make me look like I decidd to make a dress out of pantyhose. The black one will just look like I got attacked by a demented group of toddlers with scissors.

I’d actually quite like the black one if the holey bits were more ‘regular’ and I could shop off half the arms.

Put some twigs in your hair and a few mud smudges on your face (not altering the dress’s appearance) chuck on the black one and everyone will think you’ve just been pulled through a hedge backwards and will pity you instead of laughing at you.

Even if I wasn’t allowed to do appropriate hair and makeup then I’d probably still wear the black one because there’s something seriously weird going on with the sheer patches below waist level on the nude one

Can I choose both? You know, put the nude one on first then pile the black one on top of it? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Um…I guess the black one? I actually hate it more than the nude, but I feel there’s at least a CHANCE to hide behind the weird petal things, as opposed to the giant sheer strips of pantyhose running down either side of the beige one. But in either case, I’d be wearing bodypaint first at least, preferably in a non-fleshy colour

The black one. I’d be less likely to be arrested for public decency laws.

I’ve never been to a nude beach, but wearing either one you’d be overdressed. Nude is humanity’s natural condition. I’d like to think I look good naked, and anyway, on what basis could anyone judge me? Less attractive people would only show their jealousy, and more beautiful people would diminish themselves by criticising. I’ll take the Comme-des-Garcons sheer dress. It’ll boost my confidence, assuming I survive the ridicule of my fellow beach-goers.

I’m going for the black one.
Instead of a clutch, I will carry a huge, shiny pair of scissors.

Will anyone dare to raise an eyebrow?!?

Exactly how long would one have to wear said dress for?!

If I HAD to choose, it would be the black one.
It covers up slightly more and doesn’t look like a pair of ripped voile curtains.
If all else fails, you could always fall back on the “My dog ate it” excuse, because both the dresses look like they have been savaged by some form of rabid animal… 😉

I think the nude one would look quite nice with the right under garments and if you were somewhere where the lights were not too bright! Anyway, I’d wear it! I’ve certainly seen far uglier dresses!

The black one on the right. Might risk all its holes and gaps than wear the other one that looks like a wet jute sack hanging onto the model…

The black Margiela, at least it wouldn’t look like my flesh is dripping off 0_o

The ghostdress is kind of cool, but I’m REALLY not a fan of nude colors that can be mistaken for skin, I just think they look ghastly! (ha, ha)
At least the black cutout one looks /kind of/ artsy!
