Wear or Die: Jason Wu Edition

Most of the time, Jason Wu gets it so right. Even the First Lady would agree, But when it goes wrong, it’s really very wrong isn’t it? Granted, these aren’t the worst dresses to be featured on Wear or Die, but we cant imagine Michelle Obama rocking either of these and being happy about it. So if you had to, would you wear this Jason Wu ostrich feather dress (a mere £3,315 for all that glue gun action) or this bright yellow number (just £1865 to look like a bumble bee):

It’s over to you! Which would you rather? Birds or bees?

I don’t actually hate the yellow one – if the colour was more muted I think I would even like it. It is a work of art in comparison to the ostrich feather monstrosity however!

Compared to most of the other things we’ve had in Wear or Die, these are a breeze. I’ll even be so generous as to say I’d gladly choose any of the two over death. If I had to choose one, I’d probably pick the feather monstrosity. The bumblebee looks kinda middle-aged.

I’d pick the yellow one, mostly because the shape will work on my body. It’s not a color that works, but with all the black – embroidery? appliques? things? – near the face, it wouldn’t be so bad. And it wouldn’t be tickling me all day like the feathers.

Definitely the yellow. I could see myself tripping all over that feathery tail.

I WOULD wear the yellow one and be quite happy about it, I think it’s cute. Although yeah, the yellow is a bit… I’d love it in a sort of powder blue.

And even the feather one isn’t so bad, if they cut off that long boa thing.

I actually kind of love the ostriche one. I think it’s quirky, and I would def wear it on a night out with the girls, and feel very SatC in it.

Yellow. The feathers would tickle too much and the yellow isnt that bad

Definitely the ostrich feather. I don’t think I’ve worn anything yellow since I was Tweetie Bird for Halloween as a kid (yellow just isn’t my colour, although it looks fab on some people!). Plus, I kind of like the dress in a quirky, not wearing the same boring thing, kind of way.

Oh gees. Those are both calamities but the feathered one looks akin to roadkill so i’ll have to pick the yellow and act like my 4 year old niece drew on my dress. Although maybe death might be nice.

The bumble bee, because it wouldn’t make me look like I was trying to dress up as a muppet.

btw, whatever happened to Mousy? – I miss her creations…

The yellow one, definitely! Although the other one would be rather pretty without the feather boa.

Yellow one. It would look relatively normal at a distance (and is possibly still acceptable close-up, but I’m not quite sure from the picture), while the feathery one is just hideousness personified. It reminds me of fraggles.

The yellow one for sure. I almost don’t hate it.

If there weren’t feathers all over it that dress would be a lovely shape. So I’d pick the feather monstrosity, though I’d be sneezing all night, I just don’t like yellow and really don’t like bugs, which is what all that black stuff looks like.

Ostrich please. I have a thing for one shouldered dresses and I like the blue on the black. With the tail thing chopped off, I don’t think the rest of the feathers would look so bad. The yellow one’s quite cute from the belt down (though I wouldn’t wear yellow), but the top reminds me of bathroom mould or a swarm of insects. Still better than death.

The yellow one. Actually, it’s quite an inoffensive dress, imo.

Yellow all the way! I love it actually, the colour would suit some complexions really well, i could see michelle obama in it or even hayley williams. The area near the neck needs some work though. It adds too much vintage to a dress that isn’t vintage at all

But if you ignore the print on the yellow and all the fuzziness of the black then they look half-decent.
