Wear or Die: Footwear edition

Wear_or_die_shoes

With winter hard upon us, it’s time to stock up on warm winter footwear, folks. Or actually, scratch that: let’s just stock up on totally impractical peep toe footwear instead, shall we? And let’s make it ugly, into the bargain! Well, it is Wear or Die, and that’s how it goes in this game, unfortunately…

Before you stand two boots. On the left, a black peep toe boot which has been forced inside a cheap copy of Balenciaga’s famous lego shoes. On the right, meanwhile,  a frightening take on the summer’s gladiator trend from a brand called "Promiscuous Tempt". Er, yeah.

Your task then, readers, is to choose one of the options above to wear. Oh, and if you don’t choose one? You die! Leave a comment to tell us what you’d wear and how you’d wear it…

I’d wear the black ones, with black tights and a puffy prom dress. Maybe I’d also crop my hair and dye it peroxide blonde and go out on Halloween as a fat Agyness Deyn.

for me, it’s the cheap copy of Balenciaga’s famous lego shoes. It might be sinfull and hideous as hell but it’s still less “aaaaaargh!” than teh other option. But seriously, I’m tempted to die on this one..

This is easy. While the red ones look horribly uncomfortable and really weird, I have long loathed any combination of the primary colors and green. “Look at me! I’m like a sexy kindergarten teacher!” they scream.
    I choose the red gladiators.

I’ll wear the black ones, they seem sturdier, and might actually be wearable in the autumn if it wasn’t for the peep toe. I actually like lace up boots, but not when they look like two shoes in one and are that colourful.

I love both of them. Except for the peeptoes.

Haha, sorry but this is easy – I love both! The red heels would be perfect at the alt/goth club I go to and the black ones at the indie/rock club. 🙂

I’d go with the red ones, worn under a nice pair of jeans so it just looks like I’m wearing a peep-toe heel.

The ones on the left, preferably on a day when it’s not raining.

I’d wear the red ones. Hell, why not? Sure, I’d feel a bit ‘promiscuous’, if that’s how they’re going to put it, but I’d feel pretty striking in them. It’d be better if I were going to a sort of function where that kind of thing was acceptable, though – wearing them as an everyday item wouldn’t be so good!

The red. I have a sneaking suspicion I would actually like the way they look… but even so, I would wear them under jeans as I don’t think I would want the amount of attention footwear like that would garner.

I had to think Long and hard over this one and came to the conclusion that it would have to be the black ones.At least they look almost normal…

Ohh no. I’ll go with the red ones, I guess. Am I allowed to wear jeans over the worst of them or is that cheating?
Even if I can’t, I still pick the red ones because I’ve hated those lego shoes passionately ever since I first saw them in Teen Vogue a few years ago.

Red, under jeans. Even if we’re not allowed jeans, they’re still far less scary than the black ones.

Well, the red ones are clearly hooker shoes, and I used to love playing with Legos as a kid, so the Balenciagas, if I must.

I would totally play up those lego shoes with a goth outfit. (I’m a teenager, I can get away with stuff like that at my age)

I take the lace-up peep-toe boots. I would wear them with fake patched-jean leggings, a red mini, a blue quarter-sleeve high-collared top, a large black belt around my waist, and chunky square black jewelry. Oh, and I wear a leather half jacket that cuts off just above the elbow. I would wear that outfit any day, because I have a very chic but screwed up sense of style.

If the red ones didnt have all the straps at the top I’d love them so much! but, personally If the black ones were’nt peep toes, and were actual boots, I’d buy ’em!

    So–Black Lego ones ’tis!

Wear or Die: Footwear edition

Shoes

It’s been a while since we ventured into the wonderful (and sometimes downright frightening) side of footwear for Wear or Die, and we thought it was about time we rectified that, so today we’re pitting Underground England’s pink platforms against Victoria’s Secret’s Moccasin boots. Yes, those are feathers. No, you cannot hide them under the legs of your trousers. Hee!

Sadly, the boots are no longer available at the Victoria’s Secret website, but don’t go breakin’ your hearts over it, because you can try on a virtual pair right here at The Fashion Police by telling which of these pieces of footwear you’d choose to wear if you had to wear one of ’em – or die!

Oh Christ. The mocs. Black leggings, black skirt, and a big oversized sweater in a chunky knit, and sort of camel in color. Add in a shame-hiding pair of big sunglasses and a large black leather hobo (maybe with some sort of bone or tribal accent), and maybe I wouldn’t be noticed enough for people to remark on the fug on my feet!

The boots. And I’d totally wear them over my jeans with a big sweater on a cold day and pretend I was making some kind of ‘statement’.

The platforms… that was a tough one ’cause I reeeally hate pink. However, I don’t want to walk around the town looking like I’ve stepped in roadkill. Platforms all the way!

I’d wear the pink Underground England’s with black skinny jeans and maybe a leopard print belt (and of course the SAME type of leopard print..) and some band t-shirt in black. Oh and by the way, they aren’t “platforms” but they’re called “creepers” and since they’re joint with psychobilly, they’re supposed to be horrorific:D

all that is holy does not allow me to wear the platform zebra pink hurts my head ugly. so, i’d rock to boots in brown, with jeans, and a simple white blouse and turquoise jewelry and pay tribute to the ojibwe. or the navajo. or some people who actually know how to rock feathers.

The boots. The platform shoes are too ugly to be worn. I’d rather look like a pathetic fashion victim than unfashinable with the platforms. So the boots with Jeans and a simple shirt it is. Although, the platforms may work with some kind of goth schoolgirl look, but I would not look ironic enough for that to pull it off.

Definitely the boots! i actually think they’d be lovely if it weren’t for the metallics?
I really don’t like those platform sneakers though, they’d make your feet look so clunky and square! Plus i’m a sucker for feathers, he he!
