Vivienne Westwood showed her Spring 2011 Red Label collection at London Fashion Week this weekend, but the designer doesn’t want us to rush out and buy any new clothes just yet. “My message is choose well and buy less,” said the designer. “Don’t buy anything new for six months and recycle your clothes.” Luckily, the 6 month shopping ban will mean we’ll be able to shop again just in time to buy this collection when it hits the stores next year, but it could be a bit of a bummer for those of you hoping to buy yourself some new winter stuff. So, will you be heeding Vivienne’s advice, choosing quality over quantity, and not shopping for the next six months?

Take a look under the jump to see some images from the new collection…

I realise she’s right and it makes sense to buy less and buy quality. And I do with some things, but I’m pretty broke at the minute so I’ll keep going to H&M and Primark and New Look. And I get bored quickly. In other news I’m not really a big fan of any of this collection. The suit is probably my favourite thing from it.

I love the first and second look, and the gingham dress and the floaty grayish one. The rest, though, isn’t my favorite.

To me, it all looks ill-made and ill-fitting, and the proportion in some cases looks completely off. I’ve seen things that look better from the auf’ed Project Runway contestants.

Well, I like it. I think the slightly slouchy tailoring looks very nice, and the hair! Oh, the hair! Gorgeous!

Funnily enough, I’ve been trying to keep away from clothes altogether and recycle (including even getting a book on basic sewing). It’s not easy though…

I like the blue/grey dress and the jacket of the suit, but nothing on this page makes me want to save up for it!

Ahem – I mean *buying* clothes! (Not going nude – unfortunately I’m not a real hyrax.)

If it helps, I think you’d make a lovely hyrax.
For the clothes bit, I don’t tend to buy them anyway. Especially if they look like this. I hate ill fitting clothing.

I love the leopard & gingham dresses, and the grey pantsuit if the pants were fit correctly. In the picture, they look too short, and too droopy in the crotch.

This collection makes me want to stay home permanently! If this was all there was to buy, I’d never shop again.

The makeup makes the girls look as if they forgot to take off their moisturizing masks…

Loving them! I am a fan of Vivienne Westwood’s designs. Always so female while being edgy.
