Ugly Prom Dress Alert: Spare Ribs

When a retailer uses the word “sexy” to describe a prom dress, it’s usually a red flag for the Fashion Police officers.

In this case “sexy” has been translated as “all the colours of the rainbow, as many different prints as we could manage, and, oh yeah, we ruthlessly attacked the bodice with a pair of shears, so now it’s attached to the skirt with a set of fabric ‘ribs’.”

We maintain that the wearer of the dress should be the one supplying the ribs, not the dress itself. If you beg to differ, however, this is $358 from here.

A young woman in my area actually wore this dress to her prom!
Judging from the prom pics from the city nearby, I live in “ugly prom dress central”.

Philly, i’m so sorry you have to live in a place where The Ugly Prom Dresses have invaded. If you hear loud music during the night, don’t go outside to investigate.. Just lock your door, keep a pair of scissors at your side, and pray the dresses go back to where no one can see them after their prom dance is over.

My greatest fear is that they will be recycled to a younger family member or sold on ebay!!

BTW, I have been keeping a record of the ugly prom dresses that show up in our local newspaper’s “Prom Photo Section” for a few years now. They’re getting worse…….
I have seen more and more ghetto prom dresses.

Ha ha, something about this print and design makes me think of BBQ ribs!
I’m not sure if it’s a good thing to be reminding people of barbecue ribs with your prom dress lol.
I think the print would be ok without the strange rib design!

Ugh, Jovani. Half the dresses designed by Jovani look like this with different prints/different randomized cutouts

Whilst I cannot speak for others on this site, my personal opinion on this dress (i find it rather vulgar) is due to taste, rather than my supposed inability to cary this dress off. I find that I can carry off dresses like this if needs be, merely i choose not to, so I’d say you’re mistaken on this point.
