Ugly Harem Pants of the Day: Zimmermann Papillon Drape Jumpsuit Cover Up

Sometimes it’s not enough to have a saggy butt and low-slung crotch in your day-to-day life. Sometimes you want to be able to look like that at the beach/pool, too, and luckily for you, this Zimmermann jumpsuit  (sorry, “shumpsuit” – it IS sheer, after all) is here to help you do it!

This is actually supposed to be worn as a swimsuit coverup, but will people take heed of that, and refrain from wearing it AWAY from the waterside? Of COURSE they won’t. Hopefully the $450 price tag will put some of them off, though…

[Thanks to Brie for the report!]

Is it bad that I actually quite like this…? I’d never wear it but I think it’d look good on someone else

hope the papillon in the name means it is enough of a butterfly (papillon = french butterfly for those who aren’t able to par-lay francais) to cocoon itself up and transform into something beautiful…that outfit has to be the larval stage 😛

All I can think of is what a nightmare it would be to get into and out of, at the pool. Does it peel down from the neck to the tiny ankles, just to get wrapped around your foot and make you fall over? How graceful!

Hmm, can’t help disagreeing: my first thought was I could see it working (that’s “working” in the practical sense, not the fashion sense) better than any other trouser-oriented cover-up, as the shin part would stick to your shins, but the rest would be loose enough not to cause problems putting it on. (I’m assuming you put your feet into the legs, pull up as normal trousers but with the neck bit on one side, then once you’re fully inserted, lift the neck bit over your head, having sorted out which arm is going to go where.)

Yeah, I don’t know what the problem with this is. I really like this look.

I had to lean in close to the screen and asked “Oh lord. Is that sheer?”

It’s beyond me how the real Sultans can actually like the look of their harem inhabitants when dressed in this gear.

Wow… that’s ugly. Something that hideous deserves solitary confinement rather than a slap on the wrist.
