Ugly Harem Pants of the Day: ‘Gail’ sequin harem pants from BooHoo

It’s been a few weeks since our last Ugly Harem Pant of the Day post, but we thought these ‘Gail’ trousers by BooHoo deserved an honorable mention. Not only is this a harem jumpsuit, it looks a it like the kind of thing you could DIY yourself, using just a few scraps from grandma’s sewing box, and a bit of imagination. It’s kinda like a patchwork quilt masquerading as pants, come to think of it. That’s never going to end well.

BooHoo currently have a few different versions of these pants available, and are selling them for £15 per pair. Tempted?

The sad thing is when I was working in Nepal I bought these kind of things as they were the ‘acceptable’ attire and I was able to blend in more, than in my Western clothes but I was only paying on average of £1.50 an outfit. So somewhere down the line someone is getting incredibly ripped off at the wants of us in the Western world.

Even still I don’t know why Boohoo would want to sell it, it just doesn’t work in the UK!

For a scroll-downing second there I thought this was a dress. I would very happily wear a similar pattern in dress form, but as a harem pants thing? No.

Actually, I do find it somewhat tempting. It could almost pass as cool just because it’s different. The bottoms look close enough to a skirt that it might not look too obnoxiously strange…Maybe…

I love the print. I’ve never worn a harem pant so I don’t know whether or not I love or hate them. It seems like most fashion trends start off offensive to most people and then soon everyone is used to it and it no longer shocks. Harem pants aren’t my fav, but they don’t offend me anymore.
