Topshop spray jeans and hotpants silver and gold. Fashion Police concerned.

Metallic_jeans_and_hotpants

So, Topshop, in their infinite wisdom, have decided it’s about time we all sprayed our jeans and, er, hotpants, silver and gold. Just in case we can’t be bothered with that, they’ve helpfully provided these pre-sprayed ones for us, which cost £60 for the jeans and £30 for the hotpants.

What we want to know is this: have Topshop taken leave of their senses? Again.

The gold jeans clearly represent an excellent opportunity to dress up like C3P0. The hotpants, meanwhile… are obviously aimed at people who actually wear hotpants, which makes our opinions redundant here, so we’re going to leave it up to you to tell us what you think of them, readers. A good buy, do you think? Or £30 which would end up just hanging in the closet and never seeing the light of day?

Oh dear, what were Topshop thinking, this is hideous. I certainly wouldn’t pay £60 for those jeans, not when they look like they cost about a pound

    Wow.
I certainly hope these never see the light of day… but I’m not optimistic about that. =(

It looks suspiciously like the paint would flake off all over everything you sat on, stood near or tried to wear with them.

well, I’d never wear them (being a boring old indigo or black jeans kinda girl) but I can see them heading out on a Saturday night, looking frankly, quite hideous, on the legs of some poor girl who had deluded herself into believing them to be attractive. Topshop should be very ashamed of themselves!

Let’s be honest, we’ve seen this kind of thing from TopShop before. No surprises.

Yet another trend dredged up from the 90s. They looked ridiculous on Billy Corgan, and they look ridiculous now.

AWESOME! I love them. I’d wear them clubbing. The hot pants, not the jeans. They just look hot and uncomfortable.

I actually think these could look ok, in a Noel Fielding kind of way (the jeans obviously, I can’t imagine Noel in hotpants), but that would have to be thought through very carefully

I have a pair of gold jeans, but they aren’t quite this metallic. I actually get a lot of compliments on them :] the paint has worn a little over time, but the pair I own aren’t an expensive brand. I actually really love metallics, personally.
