The MET Costume Institute Gala: Ciara, Kirsten Dunst, Molly Sims, Elizabeth Hurley, Kate Beckinsale, Kate Moss, Emma Roberts, Helena Christensen, Jessica Biel

Our first Gold Star of this year’s Costume Institute Gala goes to Ciara, who was stunning in this Emilio Pucci backless dress. Admittedly, Ciara wasn’t up against much competition, mind you, because check out what Kirsten Dunst was wearing…

OK, so it’s not the worst we’ve seen Kiki do, but it’s not her best effort, either. This dress almost looked good, however, next to…

Molly Sims. Some designers just REALLY can’t get over the 80s, can they?

For once, Liz Hurley DIDN’T go for a narrow sheath dress, slit to the thigh. So mad props for that

Kate Beckinsale always brings out the drama, and she doesn’t disappoint here.

Kate Moss looks like some kind of statuette. Marc Jacobs thinks so too.

Emma Roberts wore Atelier Versace. We feel like we should hate this, but somehow we don’t.

Helena Christensen had to leave early to take part in an ice-dance competition, apparently…

Another very dramatic look, this time from Jessica Biel.

Emma Roberts looks like Jessica Rabbit morphed with a mermaid .. and Kate Moss looks like an ageing trophy wife who has spent too many summers on the rivera! Less said about Kirsten Dunst the better.
Liz Hurley and Kate Beckinsale look lovely though.
What a mixed bag that evening was (fashion wise)
