The MET Costume Institute Gala 2009: Stella McCartney

MET Gala 2008

We'll say this for Stella McCartney: at least she has the balls to actually WEAR her own designs, even when the design in question is one of her increasingly bizarre line of jumpsuits. Never again will we accuse her of raking in the cash by making clothes that "real" women wouldn't wear. Well, you know, we probably will. But kudos to her for leading by example, even although her example is one that only Lady Gaga is likely to follow.

It looks awful! Why? Why would she both design and wear something that looks so unflattering?

Why are the hips pointy? Without that it might have been alright, even better and most outfits that night. Or maybe it the bottom half was wide legs, or, even a dress.

Ha, and everybody thought shoulder pads were bad. This would be really cute, if it weren’t for those….hip-pads. Or maybe they’re made out of wire..?
