On Monday night, the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards were held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Some of the best-known names in music showed up to honor this year’s best videos and biggest hits. Everyone from Missy Elliott to John Travolta was in attendance and some of your favorite faces sported some memorable red carpet looks. The VMAs are known for being the one award show where you can truly take risks with your red carpet fashion, and this year’s ceremony was no exception. Check out just a few of the best and worst looks from the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards below!
The Best of the Best
They don’t call her the Queen for nothing! Hip hop legend and movie star Queen Latifah was our best dressed of the night in this orange pantsuit. Not everyone can pull off the sleek look of a pantsuit, but she made it look easy. Oh, and did you see the fringe at the bottom? Come on, now!
Gigi Hadid looked stunning in this nude corset top paired with shiny gold pants. In fact, the entire look was golden from top to bottom. Just look at those gorgeous pointed-toe heels!
Keke Palmer’s glittering fitted gown gave us major old-school Hollywood vibes. We’re loving the retro phone clutch, too!
Camila Cabello’s outfit reminded us of something you would see on a Greek goddess. The short skirt and torso cut-outs made this gown almost as sexy as her performance with boyfriend, Shawn Mendes!
Talk about ravishing in red! Hailee Steinfeld looked incredible in head-to-toe shades of red. Seriously – the lips, the dress, the heels. How sultry is this look?
The Worst of the Worst
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is known for being a hot mess and this outfit is evidence of that. The ill-fitted pants, the strange jacket (it’s August), the rainbow crop top. Not a single one of these things belongs with the others.
We just can’t get onboard with Peppermint’s sheer jumpsuit. Do we really need to see everyone’s underwear on the red carpet?
Blac Chyna disappeared from the public eye for a long time…and decided to re-emerge in this feathery pink atrocity.
Like we said before, we don’t need to see everyone’s undergarments. Halsey’s look was a little too much for our taste, but we have to say this much: she’s in incredible shape!
Between her opening number and winning the coveted “Video of the Year” award Taylor Swift may have dominated the night, but she certainly didn’t dominate the red carpet with this tacky look.
