Retro Style: 10 Awesome Ways to Wear 70’s Fashion

They say that fashion often repeats itself…or is it history that often repeats itself? Either way, fashion trends have a tendency to cycle over and over again. Things that were once popular can make a comeback decades later. Lately we’ve seen a resurgence of many fashion trends from the 70’s, and we’re definitely not complaining! The 70’s had some of the best fashion trends of all time, and we’re thrilled to see them making a comeback. From flared pants to aviator sunglasses, we hope to see a lot of 70’s fashion trends this year. We’ve taken a look at two retailers who are known for carrying retro-style clothes, ModCloth and Urban Outfitters, and we compiled a list of ten ways…

10 Items From ModCloth That Are Perfect for Animal Lovers

We all love animals, right? I mean, anyone who doesn’t love animals is surely some kind of heathen. (Okay, heavy on the judgement here – but seriously, who doesn’t love animals?) We pamper our pets and spend hours watching cheesy animal-related reality shows on television. Some of us love animals so much that we show our love for them in our fashion choices. A great place for fashion items featuring furry friends is the vintage-inspired website, ModCloth. From unique handbags to adorable sweaters, we scoured ModCloth and compiled ten of our favorite animal-themed clothing items and accessories. Check them out here: 1. leggings are not pants

Leggings are not cycle shorts, except when they are

Now that fashion brands have managed to convince so many of us that leggings are, in fact pants (If you need proof of this statement, we’d like to invite you to come for a stroll around the mall closest to the Fashion Police HQ any day of the week. It’s hard to find people wearing anything BUT leggings-as-pants there…), they need some other horrible fashion trend to damage our eyeballs with. Enter the leggings-worn-as-cycle-shorts-and-legwarmers look. Didn’t see that one coming, did you? The text next to these leggings on the Modcloth website talks about athletes, and podiums and triathlons, and that kind of thing. We have absolutely no idea what any of that has to do with these leggings (unless, of…

To Infinity and Neon Coat

Bright Enough For Ya?

Modcloth recommend wearing this coat with “neon pumps”. We guess there just wasn’t enough neon here already, huh? You know what else there isn’t enough of right now? Eyeball bleach. [Thanks to Meike for the report! | Click here to buy it]

Back to the 80s in Modcloth’s Leisure Studies romper

Where to start… Well, it’s certainly yellow. In fact, the Fashion Police can’t actually look at this piece without thinking “banana”. It has a cheap looking velvet collar, and appears to be made of that lovely wool-polyester mix that bobbles as soon as you look at it. But it’s difficult to tell over the interwebs, so perhaps the fabric is not actually as cheap and nasty as it looks… Or, perhaps, you like it? Perhaps you can imagine rocking that 80s retro glam look in this little baby on a Saturday night? If so, leave us a comment telling us how you’d wear it. You can buy it from Modcloth for $97.99.

Dress of the Day: Matilda dress from Modcloth

We’ve had some requests lately for the return of Dress of the Day, so, slightly against our better judgement, here it is. We couldn’t resist showing you this grey “Matilda” dress from Modcloth, but now we risk your wrath by revealling that, although new in, it’s already sold out. We can see why. We’ve pressed the “notify me on restock” button, needless to say… Modcloth ‘Matilda’ dress, $52.99
