Katy Perry in a pink dress and gigantic hat

Katy Perry has a really big head, we mean hat

What with all the fuss surrounding the Grammy Awards, and the BAFTAs, and the Elle Style Awards, and New York Fashion Week and all those other things that make February the official Month From Hell™ here at Fashion Police HQ, Katy Perry thought she’d managed to fly under The Fashion Police’s radar with this outfit, worn to the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala Honoring Paul McCartney last week. Not so, Katy P: The Fashion Police see all, and you’re not getting off that easily. That said, the hat is really the only aspect of this outfit that may require policing. The dress itself is gorgeous and delicate, and even the hat is something of a work of art: we’re getting a bit of…

Fashion Police at the 2012 Grammy Awards: Katy Perry in blue Elie Saab Couture

Katy Perry has rather lost her ability to surprise us with different hair colours and dressing like a cartoon character, so for last night’s Grammy Awards, she decided to do it with an uncharacteristically “Princessy” dress by Elie Saab. The fact that we can totally imagine Meryl Streep in this did take us aback somewhat, and it’s definitely not Katy’s usual look, but what do you think of it? Did she pull it off? Case Closed: Katy Perry in a mouse-ear headband

For a long time now, we’ve been asking ourselves the question: who would wear all of those mouse ear headbands we keep seeing on retail websites? It was kind of a stupid question, huh? OBVIOUSLY Katy Perry would wear them. And here she is, doing exactly that (and wearing a Christian Dior dress and jacket along with them) as she promotes her new fragrance, ‘Purr’ in Toronto. Next question: why does she remind us so much of Leighton Meester in these photos? And one last question before we go: have any of you tried the fragrance? Is it any good? We tend to walk right past celebrity fragrances without even stopping to try them, because they always seem a bit……

Fashion Police at the European premiere of ‘Arthur’ with Katy Perry, Helen Mirren and more

Apparently one of the ways Russell Brand feels he’s influenced Katy Perry’s sense of style has been to encourage her to dress “less like a cartoon character”. For that, we thank Mr. Brand. The Fashion Police support any and all attempts to reduce the number of cartoon characters on our streets. We also quite like this dress, which Katy wore to the European premiere of Arthur. You? Also on the red carpet for this event was:

Fashion Police at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards 2011: Katy Perry

[PRPhotos.com] Our full coverage of last nights Grammy and BAFTA Awards (Why must they have them on the same night? And during New York Fashion Week? Will no one think of the bloggers?) will be along shortly, so please check back soon for that. While you’re waiting, however, here’s a quick look at Katy Perry’s Grammy arrival gown. This surely wouldn’t have looked too out of place amongst some of the ugly wedding dresses here at The Fashion Police, but given that this is Katy Perry we’re looking at, you have to really chance your whole reference frame, don’t you? Compared to some of the things we’ve seen Katy wear to awards shows, it actually looks quite elegant/restrained. What do you…

Best Dressed of the Day: Katy Perry in florals in New York

The rest of the world may be dreaming of Fall, but Katy Perry (and The Fashion Police) is still clinging onto summer style, choosing a floral tube dress, fluffy pink cardigan and Christian Louboutin peep toes to attend meetings in New York City this week. Katy’s style can be just a little too OTT a lot of the time, but we think this is a sweet look for the the end of summer. What do you think?

katy perry in black studded mini dress

Katy Perry in a black studded mini dress

She’s looking just a little more dressed up than most of us would for a day out and about in New York, but then again, if being followed around by photographers all day doesn’t give you an excuse to brush up, we don’t know what would! Katy Perry is pictured here in a black studded mini dress, and she’s clearly paid some attention to detail too, because the studs are also picked up on her shoes, with the paler strip on the top of her sunglasses completing the look. What do you think?

Fashion Police at Perez Hilton’s Carn-Evil 32nd Birthday Party

Don’t panic! Leona Lewis hasn’t totally lost the fashion plot here: Perez Hilton’s 32nd birthday party did have a Carn-Evil theme (make of that what you will), and Leona is simply dressing the part. We think Katy Perry came in fancy dress too, although it’s sometimes hard to tell with Katy, hmm? This looks like it was a pretty fun night, fashion wise. Take a look at the gallery below for more outfit shots!

Katy Perry in Dolce & Gabbana’s Suede Swarvoski Platform Pump at the Waking Up In Vegas Party

Our sister site, Shoeperwoman, spotted Katy Perry wearing Dolce & Gabbana’s crystal studded pumps as she hosted the Waking Up in Vegas party at Haze Nightclub this week. Katy wore the shoes with a very shiny mini dress complete with handkerchief hem and cowl beck. Shoes aside, this reminds us of the kind of things girls used to wear to go clubbing in the 90s, but that could just be us, of course: what do you think?

Katy Perry Be Afraid shirt

Katy Perry wants us to be afraid

Don’t be silly, Katy Perry: don’t you know The Fashion Police aren’t afraid of ANYTHING? Well, other than Crocs, obviously. And harem pants. Oh, and clowns. Katy Perry, though? Nah, she doesn’t scare us. Not yet, anyway.

Katy Perry Russell Brand engagement ring

Katy Perry shows off her engagement ring

Katy Perry and Russell Brand arrived back in London last night, with Katy wearing a big ‘ol diamond (or at least we assume it’s a diamond) on her ring finger. Twitter, meanwhile, is awash with rumours that Katy is expecting a little Russell sometime this year: we have no idea if this is true, but if so, we’re imagining a baby with huge, tousled hair, just like dad’s. Awww! We wonder how Russell, who’s famous for his lewd comments on stage and womanising past, got on with Katy’s ultra-religious parents?

Katy Perry and Russell brand engaged in India

Katy Perry and Russell Brand get engaged in India

Fashion Police congratulations to Katy Perry and Russell Brand, who reportedly got engaged earlier this week, while on holiday in India. Katy celebrated the occasion by slipping into a salmon pink jumpsuit with a comfy elasticated waist, while Russell… Russell appeared to slip into a pair of Katy’s cropped pants. Please feel free to make your own jokes about that: Russell most certainly would!

Spotted! Katy Perry in a muppet-print dress

Katy Perry has certainly managed to make her mark on Paris Fashion Week this year. She’s appeared at almost all of the shows, sometimes with new boyfriend Russel Brand in tow, and now here she is wearing a muppet print dress. It’s certainly very Katy’, but unfortunately her breasts don’t seem to agree – they look like they’re desperately trying to escape here, perhaps for Fear of being associated with this dress? Sorry, girls, it’s too late, we already spotted you. You’ll just have to hope Katy decides to free you soon…

Red Carpet Watch: MTV Video Music Awards 2009 arrivals

We’ve already shown you what Lady Gaga wore to the MTV Music Video Awards last night, now here are some of the celebrities she was attempting to steal the limelight from.  Remember to tell us what you thought of these outfits – who was your favourite and least favourite? Above – Katy Perry, in a dress we could’ve sworn we’ve seen her in before…

Wear or Die: Katie/Katy edition – Katie Price or Katy Perry?

This morning The Fashion Police woke up with a burning question on our minds: what would we have to do to persuade our readers to dress like Katie Price/Jordan, and make them think it was a good idea? And then the answer came to us: make the only other option dressing like Katy Perry, in the strange half suit/half dress outfits which was one of her costumes at the MTV Europe music awards. Simple! As it happens, both women shown here are wearing weirdly indecisive outfits, but what we want to know is this: if you HAD to dress like one of them – or face death – which one would you choose? It's the "Katy/Katie" edition of Wear or…

Random Celebrity Fashion Moment of the Day: Katy Perry in a silver mini dress and Louboutins in Japan

They say you should never mix your metals, but when you’re Katy Perry, these so-called “rules” don’t apply. (And actually, we’re not so sure they apply to the rest of us, either.) Here she is at the new H&M branch in Harajuku, Tokyo last night, helping promote the company’s new line of AIDS awareness clothes. We’ don’t think the silver dress is part of it, but hey, you never know. Would you buy it, if so, readers? What do you think of Katy’s shiny metallics here?

Katy Perry’s bowling outfit doesn’t leave Fashion Police bowled over…

Well, it's certainly bright, isn't it? This is Katy Perry, photographed outside Lucky Strike, on her way to do a spot of bowling. We're going to assume here that Katy thought it would be dark inside and didn't want her friends to lose track of her. Either that or the realisation that bowling shoes look bad with pretty much everything prompted her to throw caution to the winds and throw on the kind of suit that will stop anyone even looking at your feet. Who knows. Either way, we're not exactly bowled over: are you?

Katy Perry attacked by giant smiley faces, Fashion Police investigating

Poor Katy Perry. Out signing autographs, bothering no one and looking perfectly sweet in her little polka dot skirt/dress, when suddenly..POP! Two giant yellow smiley faces appear out of nowhere and attach themselves to her shoulders. "It was horrific," an eye witness told The Fashion Police. "Katy had no chance: she just didn't see it coming. It was tragic to see such a pretty young woman attacked in such a senseless way." Katy is currently recovering from her ordeal at a Fashion Police Safe House. Meanwhile, we're putting out ab APB on the yellow smiley faces, which we believe to be armed and dangerous: do not approach them, people – just call The Fashion Police!
