Style Trial: Kylie Minogue in gingham at the Q Awards

Kylie Minogue Gingham dress

We’re not entirely sure how we managed to miss this, but the Q Awards took place in London this week, and Kylie Minogue rocked up in this unusual gingham number, which looks a bot like something took a bite out of her shoulder and she was forced to quickly patch up the hole with a piece of mis-matched fabric.

We love Kylie, but we can’t allow our personal feelings get in the way when it comes to fighting crimes of fashion, so we must ask you: is Kylie¬†committing¬†one here?

I like the general idea of this dress, but the pattern(s) make(s) my eyes hurt. Additionally the shoulder part looks like a bib, especially with this neckline.
Maybe if it was done with colourblocking or one patterned and one solid part…

Big time fashion crime. Not only does it look like her designer ran out of cloth while making this thing, it looks like he stole it from two different tablecloths. And here’s something else: how on earth is she keeping that thing on?

I’m never a fan of wrinkled, flesh-toned netting. Were it sufficiently boned to stand on its own, it might be striking. Were the netting an unexpected contrasting color like turquoise or royal blue, it might have been fun. Like this, it seems like a design school student project gone awry.

It does terrible things to her boobs, and different size gingham pattern is really distracting. Definite crime.

I was thinking when I saw the title, “Gingham? I like gingham.” Then, I saw the photo. And the fleshnet. Crime!

I didn’t see the flesh net until others pointed it out. the dress looked to me as if in danger of slipping in a big way! Ugly patterns that cross the eye, make the boobs look like two different sizes and the bib neckline are hideous. Guilty!

Oh, what happened to the diva of the striking futuristic hoodie and glossy luscious red lips?
Is she going back to the hideous 80s mini frock days she started with?
No, this is 100 shades of WRONG!
