Style On Trial: Roberto Cavalli suede ankle boots with curved heels

roberto-cavalli-ankle-boots

We could look at this image all day. Well, OK, maybe not ALL day, but there’s something very satisfyingly dramatic about these boots, and if it wasn’t for the little curly bits on the heels, we’d love them unreservedly. We just can’t make our minds up about the heels, though. Do we love them? Do we hate them? Do they look too much like a piece of furniture? Does the whole shoe look a bit like a stylised rocking chair, in fact?

Oh, we don’t know. What we do know is that they’re by Roberto Cavalli, and they’re $1,364 at Zappos. Do they get a Yay or a Nay from the ladies and gentlemen of the Fashion Police jury, though?

I like the shoes, but I don’t think they’d be good for much besides a photo shoot.

They’d make lovely mantelpiece decorations but, I doubt I’d find the suitable occasion to actually wear them outside my house.

the heels do give off a bit of a furniture-esque vibe, but they are still gorgeous.

I have to admit, I reaaally love those shoes. Definitely too expensive for me, though. Like others have said–when could you ever wear them?

Love them, the heels are a bit strange, but I’d still love them and wear them.

I think the bottom layer of the platforms and the bit of the heels under the swirl just need to be cut off. It’d make the lines so much better, and then they’d be altogether fabulous.

I like them! I’d love to see what they actually looked like worn, though.

They’re interesting to look at, but seem like they’d be better in a modern art museum than on someone’s feet.

I think they’re great. These are very plain compared to some other designer shoes that are on the market right now…
