Style on Trial: Barbie print at Miss Selfridge

T shirts with cartoon characters on the front were very popular last summer and there are still a few around this year.  Miss Selfridge are taking this a step further and have no fewer than six different t shirts and tanks (and a pair of socks) available featuring the inimitable Barbie.  Is this a step too far though readers?  A step too far in the direction of dressing like a toddler?  Or do you think that Barbie rocks and the perfect way to pay your respect to her is by wearing a top with her image adorning it?

If you agree with the latter, the Barbie t shirts are available from Miss Selfridge from £18 (£3 for the socks).

My 8 yr old would love it! But a bit much to pay for something that only lasts a couple of washes if that.

I love them all, nearly bought one recently but £18 is too much for basically a novelty t-shirt that don’t look all that durable. But I collected barbies when I was little and really like all these prints.

Hmmm, maybe the ones with “vintage” Barbie on them, as the old Barbie kinda represents fashion more than Barbie nowadays. At least in my opinion. XD

But will people know if they’re being worn in an ironic way?

I admit it, I’d wear one.. loving those vintage barbie images…. I loved my Barbies, but man, when you look at them now, what slapperish clothes they wore! (the 80s)

I’d wear one if they had the feature I loved most about Barbie; her fantastic CV.

    Astronaut, vet, firefighter…she was awesome!

These shirts remind me of that scary pair of leggings a while back with the barbies faces printed on it!!! Those sure left me cowering behind my couch!
