Style on Trial: Acne’s ‘Who’ strapless dress

acne-strapless-dressIt’s fruit-picking season, folks, and boy, do we have the dress for you to wear! This ‘Who’ dress by Acne comes with a handy “basket” stuck to the side: just throw your fruit into it as you go! Of course, you may feel just a little bit overdressed, but not to worry, there are lots of other uses you can put this to:

  • Storing your lipstick/money/phone in on a night out
  • Alternative to a sling for your newborn child*
  • Handy hiding place for a sneaky snack
  • Er, shoplifting?**

It’s definitely a multi-tasker, then, but what about its appearance? Do you love it or loathe it and, more importantly, would you actually buy and wear it? It’s £480 at Net-a-Porter if the answer to that is “yes”.

*Note: don’t try this at home, kids.
** Or this.

kinda looks like it was long and the designer changed their mind about it so they just folded up the extra hem tacked it on and turned half of it into a gigantic hip pocket and voila…minis with giant hip pockets are sooo 2009! lol

Actually, by Acne’s standards it’s pretty good.

If you put a baby in it, wouldn’t the weight drag the dress down? I think I’ll pass….

I think the “pocket” will quickly droop under its own weight. Useless AND ugly.

Interesting idea. I applaud that. However, I wouldn’t be wearing it since I dont need to be accentuating my crooked hip.

I would’ve liked it had it been cocktail-length. That massive pocket looks a little like an update of the 1950s dresses with the massive pockets that look like a peplum when you squint a bit. They’re surprisingly flattering when worn!
