Stuck Together Clothes Crimes: Next grey ‘1972’ sweater (stuck-to-skirt) dress

Next don’t actually call this a sweater-stuck-to-skirt dress, we added that bit ourselves, but in essence that is exactly what it is.  They also have it listed under ‘knitwear and cardigans’ further leading us to believe that it is not a dress at all.  But OK Next, if you insist on calling it a sweater dress you go ahead and we’ll humour you.

We quite like the combination of the sweater and the skirt, but we think we’d prefer it if we had the option to wear the sweater with whatever bottoms we wanted.  Also to have the option to take it off if we got warm.  And that’s probably a good reason not to buy this and to put an actual sweater over a real skirt to avoid such embarrassing scenarios as having to admit that you can’t take off your sweater because it is stuck to your skirt.

But what do you think?  Would you rather buy a 2-in-1 sweater-and-skirt, or buy the two things separately?  If you like the sweater dress, it’s available in Regular, Tall and Petite sizes and you can buy it here for £45.  .

I don’t like it but can see the point of sticking the two together, because if they were separates the sweater part would probably end up pulling the dress up at the back.

I love this look, but I wouldn’t buy it because it doesn’t make sense! Why buy this which you can only wear one way, when you could buy a sweater, and wear it with other things, and buy a navy skirt, and you could make different outfits with that too?
I can see what Rock Hyrax means though, maybe with this particular outfit it’s better to have them sewn together :/

It’s very, very cute, but very, very pointless.

Mixing and matching helps you get the most bang out of your buck, because you can wear a skirt casually one day (w/ a tee shirt) and the same thing can be super-fancy the next with a matching dress top, fancy accessories, and the right makeup!
