Spring 2012 Fashion Trends: Mint Green

Spring 2012 Fashion Trends

(Marni mint green dress, $1,195, Miss Selfridge wrap dress, £32, Polyester shirt, £30, Flat shoes, $32, Topshop gladstone bag, $76, Amazon.com: essie Polish, Mint Candy Apple, $6.25)

Are you feeling fresh, fashion jurors? We certainly hope so, because Spring 2012 will see a lot of mint coming into our lives, with the colour already starting to pop up at many of our favourite fashion haunts. Of course, pastels in general are always big during Spring/Summer, and those of you who don’t like mint will have plenty of tangerines and lemons to suck on instead, if you’ll forgive the expression.

Those of you who DO like mint, however, may like to take a look at our gallery, which is crammed full of fresh, fashiony goodness from the likes of Zara, Antipodium, Paige Denim, Office and more…

I love the colour. I chose a light green and lavender palette for my wedding and those River Island shoes are something I would choose for that day.

I just pray no one color blocks mint with tangerine. Is color blocking over yet?

Yay mint! I’m seriously tempted to buy this Zara dress but I think I’ve got nothing to wear it with…that’s the problem with unusual colours, I guess.

Boo. It’s gorgeous as heck, but that colour has always made my skin look reddish. That’s disappointing.

Oh mint is a lovely colour, and I loved that Asos pencil skirt to pieces… until I saw the raspberry version and the freaky model. I think someone went waaay overboard with photoshop on that one 0.o

I was already obsessed with mint early last year. Notice how Gaga said in her music video for Marry the Night that mint would popular this spring?

It has been obvious the trend was nigh for quite some time, really.

I was actually thinking the exact same thing. So now the question is: Is mint fashion because Gaga said it would be? Or did Gaga just get inside tips from designers?
Or even is she really an alien and can see into the future??
