Dress of the Day: Side peplum dress by Alexander McQueen

Alexander_mcqueen_dress This dress has grabbed our attention every time we’ve clicked onto the Net-a-Porter website this week, so we figured it deserved a turn in the Dress of the Day spot.

Although the nude panel in the centre of the bodice is probably designed to look like skin, and create the illusion that you’re wearing nothing but the two wide black strips on either side, it doesn’t actually look like that if you view it on the model,  leaving you with a simple-but-striking dress, and a wonderful silhouette.

It’s £2,670, which is roughly what you’d expect from Alexander McQueen these days, but in its defence, it does look expensive. Is it worth that much? Up to you. If you think it is, you can buy it at Net-a-Porter

Ok, looks great on the model, but at first glance at this dress, I saw bunny silhouette. There was ears and cheeks- not a dress!
But it is very nice on the model, when I looked properly.

I actually don’t like it. =/ I’m not keen on the silhouette and the panel at the front looks strange to me!

i love the front but the back looks so strange on the model.
this kind of seems like another example of how hips and curved shapes are in.

Love it! It looks like a typical LBD but has a twist. Very chic and excellent for the parties coming up for Christmas.

This dress is featured on Reese Witherspoon in the November issue of Vouge, and she looks amazing in it.
