Shuella: umbrellas for your shoes

6a00d8341c873353ef010536f8e

Over the years, we've seen various solutions to the problem of how to protect your shoes from the rain, and some have been better than others.

Now there's one more possible solution to add to the list: they're called "Shuella" and they're kind of like a cross between galoshes and wellies. Unlike wellies, though, they go on over your regular shoes, and unlike galoshes, they can be worn with any height of heel, so there could be anything from a ballet flat to a pair of stilettos inside that bright pink boot. (Also available in bright yellow, bright green and black).

It's the look of these that we suspect will be a problem for some of you, but there's no denying they'd come in handy in the rain, and they come with their own pouch, plus a cloth to wipe them down with, so you can stash them away in your handbag when you're done with them.

What do you think of them, though? They're $49.95, and you can buy them here.

I have to admit I like bright colours and strange shoes but I’m sure I’d ware this. My question is: are they really comfy? I mean, can you really walk with a boot over your stilleto? If anyone tries them, please let me know.

That’s what I was wondering. At first glance I thought, “Why bother – they’ll take up as much space as a spare pair of shoes?” but then you won’t be carrying your usual shoes when you’ve got the shuellas on (because you’ll still be wearing them).
I suppose their desirability will really rest on Noelia’s criterion…

Well at first glance it might look weird but if you think about it is actually a good idea. But I have the same concern as the other comments, How comfortable are they?

    Amazing idea.
There’s still the question, though – What do you do if you’re caught in the rain wearing knee-high suede boots?

I admit they’re cute… but as Froggie mentioned – what happens if your boots are knee height? DISASTER.
Mif they weren’t the bright pink everyone-looks-at-your-feet colour, I’d consider taking them.
It’s a ingenius – and not a bad design either!
