Shoe Style on Trial: Mouse shoes by Mellow Yellow

When you saw the words “mouse shoes” in the title of this post, you probably thought of a certain Mr Marc Jacobs, who has been peddling his rodent-themed footwear for a long time now. The Marc Jacobs mouse shoes are one of those items that tend to totally divide opinion: people either absolutely love them, and can’t understand why the rest of the world doesn’t love them just as much as they do, while the rest just can’t understand why anyone over the age of four would want to walk around with faces on their feet.

What if the mouse in question was a FAMOUS mouse, though? A Disney mouse? WHAT IF YOU COULD WEAR MICKEY MOUSE ON YOUR FEET, PEOPLE? Because you totally can, look!

These shoes are by French brand Mellow Yellow, and we think Disney lovers and small children might just adore them:

As for the rest of you, however, well, we’re not so sure how you’ll react to the idea of wearing Mickey on your feet, so how about you tell us in the comments section?

Should footwear have faces? Should heels have tails? Up to you…

(And if you DO love them, you can click here to buy yourself a pair from Sarenza, where they’re priced at £179)

[P.S. If you love shoes, you may also love our shoe blog, Shoeperwoman.]

I could do with the face if I had to, but the tail throws them over the edge!

First of all, love the new layout!

    And now a story.
When we were kids, my sis brought home a “hamster”. I was all like “OOH what a cute hamster!!” took it in my hands and tried to kiss it. And then I noticed it had a long tail.
*terrible scream, “hamster” flying in the air, 2 hours of trying to get the rat from under the couch*

Anyway, I’m scared of the rat tails ever since.

They’re a cute idea, but to actually wear? Ha ha. And the tail…we just won’t get into that…

I’d think they were kind of cute, and possibly even permissible, if they didn’t have tails. Those tails render them hideous.
