Heroes in a half-sock…

Halfsocks We realise we’ve had bit of a "thing" about socks recently here at The Fashion Police, and we do apologise. The thing is, though, that socks are an item of clothing so regularly abused by fashion criminals that it would be a shame to let the manifold crimes committed against them go un-reported, wouldn’t it?

Take these half-socks, for instance. What the hell? And OK, we can see that they’re obviously meant to be worn with mules or clogs, but we will say once again: if your footwear is so hard to wear that you’re forced to seek out all kinds of convoluted socks and half-socks and thong socks and the like, maybe it’s time to rethink your footwear choices, no?

We would also be interested to hear from anyone who’s actually worn these "half socks", because it seems to us that that ridge around the ball of the foot must be really uncomfortable? Are we wrong?

The half socks don’t stay on my feet. I really don’t see the point either. However, my girls (ages 8 and 9) take several dance classes each. These half socks are all the rage at the dance studio. It all started with the owner of the studio who was on Broadway for several years. Apparently it is a dancer thing that really took off.

I LOVE HALF SOCKS! I got a pair the last time I went to England (about 5 yrs ago) and they are great. I have a pair of slip on shoes with a back, and they give me blisters if i don’t wear the socks. And they are not uncomfortable at all. I can’t even tell I am wearing them. But all of my friends think that I am wearing my 2 yr olds socks.

    I love half socks too
I live in Hong Kong and we can buy the Japanese made toe socks which are like a nylon in a nude color with a pad for the ball of your feet
Great for mules and even pumps bc they are not visible when u have your shoes on and prevents blisters

“Toe toppers” or half socks as you call them are cool!!!! mix them up, wear them with a nice pair of heels and your skinny leg jeans!!! its a unique style, but honestly, out off all the toe socks, mitten socks and tube socks (tube socks are cool too with jeans and thongs) toe toppers are the funkiest socks around!!!!! you fashion police should get out there and start working on things like couples wearing matching jogging gear instead of funky socks that are only getting a bad rap because you dont know how to wear them!!!!
