Style On Trial: SJP in YSL for the Sex and the City movie

Sexandthecity As hard as it may be to believe, there’s a bit of a "buzz" about these baggy, high-waisted YSL trousers – as seen on Sarah Jessica Parker, seen here filming the Sex and the City movie –  going on in the fashion world at the moment. Style PS, the fashion blog of The Times newspaper, for instance, says of the pants:

"No doubt set to be sell outs, and I personally can’t wait to get my hands on the tailoring.  A true investment for chic girls who like longevity."

If this is, indeed, the case, then all we can say is that we’re very glad we’re not"chic girls" because this is one investment we think our wardrobes could be doing without. The high waist. The short leg (did your cat just die, Carrie? Only your pants appear to be at half-mast…). The baggy shape. They may well sell-out, but we suspect it’ll be because the fashion pages decide to hype them up rather than because they look genuinely flattering.

Of course, we may well be very wrong about this, so do tell us: what do you think about these pants? Are they really a good investment for chic girls, or do you think you’ll be able to live chic-ly enough without them, thanks very much?

Ummmm, ick. And the high waist and loose top combo makes her boobs look really saggy.

Well like usual, It looks pretty awesome on Carrie Bradshaw, but when a real woman tries to wear it, it’ll look, in no uncertain terms, DUMPY. DUMPY. That is all.

It adds about 30 years onto her. Not a good look.
