Save or Splurge: Rainbow t-bar sandals from Delia’s and Moschino

Rainbow-t-bars

An eagle-eyed reader drew our attention to the similarities between the two pairs of shoes shown above. Sure, there are some big differences, too: the heels are different heights and shapes, and one shoe is patent while the other’s aren’t, but they’re both rainbow-fronted t-bar sandals, they both use the same colours in the same places, and as such, they make us wonder: which would you buy?

On the right, Delia’s Volatile Kendra sandals will cost you $70.50, while on the left, Moschino’s versions are $645.

Would you Save or Splurge?

Save, the colours look so much brighter on the cheaper pair.

Splurge! I absolutely hate the heel on the cheaper pair.

Save. They are cuter in my opinion.

Splurge, if I had that kind of shoe money. The colors are much less “in your face”, the heel is so much more graceful and the overall look of the shoe is classier. Wouldn’t even look twice at the save version.

I’m not a big rainbow fan so I’d wouldn’t look twice at either in a store.

First time that I see something rainbow-related and I can’t express interess in buying…

If my show budget stretched to the splurge, I totally would, because they are so obviously better made, but since it doesn’t, I’d be pretty happy with the save. I think they’re both really cute, and I love t-bars.

You can see the quality in the splurge, the save ones look a little childlike to me.

splurge, def. The cheap ones look it. The splurge is glossier, the colors are deeper and more sophisticated, so the hint of whimsy isn’t silly, it’s pleasing. I hate the save shoes, and the splurge kind of turn me around on the idea. But…they still cost about 500 dollars too much, and that’s being generous.

For the amount that i would actually wear them, i’d go for the save.

Wouldn’t wear either, but I definitely prefer looking at the splurge ones! The shape of the saves is horrible!

The “save” shoes are adorable and playful, and the “splurge” shoes are totally gorgeous. I like them both!
Given my budget, spending more than my rent on a pair of shoes isn’t really an option, but if it were, I might buy these.

    I’d splurge.
If I was Rainbow Brite of course…

The shoes are unique either way. I think the save ones look a little more old ladyish…but because the shoes are so unusual, and would have to be worn with the right outfit for the look to work, the type of woman who could pull it off should be able to make either pair look good. Worn well, with style, creativity and taste, the people who would see these shoes and normally give them a funny look would probably gush with compliments. It would also be easy to make either pair look atrocious with the wrong outfit.

Save, because the heels are lower.
I’m not one of those girls who can totter round on high high heels everyday.

Splurge, definitely! The shape on them is so much classier than the save version and the colours look ten times better.
I wouldn’t ever wear the save version but if I could walk around easily in the splurge I would buy them right away. Can’t have too many taxi shoes.

I agree with Tara – the splurge are much classier, more elegant (if rainbow shoes can be elegant, that is!) and the “save” shoes are a tad bit… tacky.

SAVE! The cheaper pair brings out a summer look in a fab way so I’d go for it.

The expensive ones are a bit nicer, but not nice enough to pay $574.50 for. Save.

Save. If I’m going to have a pair of rainbow heels, it will be because they’re a little silly and funky. I don’t have a need for sophisticated rainbow heels.

I actually think the Delia’s one looks better. The other one’s not so bad, though. I don’t know if i’d pay that much for it, though. :/
