We Don’t Know How She Does It: Sarah Jessica Parker does colourblocking

Sarah Jessica Parker in a red blouse and pink wide-legged trousers

When it comes to colourblocking, one of the most popular combinations is one which used to be frowned on, back in the days before colourblocking became A Thing: we’re talking about red and pink. In fact, so popular has  this particular combo become that we’re surprised the fashion press haven’t invented a compound word for it. “Ped”, maybe. Or “rink”. Anyway!

Here’s Sarah Jessica Parker making her way into the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York this week, to appear on “Late Show with David Letterman”. SJP is currently busy promoting her new movie, I Don’t Know How She Does It. How DOES SJP do it, though? Colourblocking, we mean. Does she do it well, or does she do it badly? Should she be arrested, or should she be awarded the Fashion Police Gold Star, for services to style? It’s up to you…

Seriously have never known what the fuss is about red and pink?… after all pink is just red in a diluted form…red plus white equals pink…

Meh It’s okay .. I just don’ t like the top. Because it’s seethrough it doesn’ t stand out as colourful as it is supposed to be. Just cut those sleeves off!

It would have been better with a contrasting belt, maybe in purple, blue or yellow. I think colourblocking is a trend that you really need to go all out for or not at all.

I like the pink and red together in this outfit. It’s the white 80s pumps that are killing it for me.

Red and pink do not go together (ditto with orange) because the contrast between them makes my eyes wobble. That’s why.

Yeah, that’s how I feel about it. Especially *bright* red and *bright* pink; it’s hard to look at!

I love it. Especially the pants. She looks great (mostly because we can’t see her arms 😉 )

Ugh, pointy white pumps always look so tacky!
The sillhouette of the outfit looks lovely; but I am not loving the color combo, color blocking trend or not.

The white pumps do stick out like a sore thumb.

I like colorblocking, but not a fan of the clashing colors.

I rather like it. As with most trends, the trick is to have a confident attitude. And good shoes. 🙂

Love it! She looks great in these colours. But she’s a bit too skinny, if you ask me.
