Dress of the Day: Classic black dress from Stop Staring

Retro_dress We went for a retro feel for today’s Wear or Die, so we thought we may as well carry that through to Dress of the Day, with this classic black dress by Stop Staring, which is available in the UK from Dolly Dagger.

Luckily there’s nothing 70s-style about this dress, which was inspired by a rather more sophisticated fashion era. This is a great dress for girls with hourglass figures, as it’s cut to emphasize the curves, with the skinny belt helping to create the kind of waist Scarlett O’Hara would have been proud of. The satin top adds a touch of sex appeal, and the box pleats on the pencil skirt have satin inserts to match, which is a nice detail.

Get it from Dolly Dagger for £105.

Oh god, this is torture. I love everything Stop Staring have ever made, and this thing of exquisite loveliness is no exception. And, as an hourglass figured lady, it would be immensely flattering.
I’ve just had an unexpected windfall, and was determined to save the money, but I can feel my resolve wavering as I type…

Steph, I feel your pain… I’m saving for a holiday, have no money, and, er, kinda ordered yesterday’s Dress of the Day (a slip of the keyboard, I swear) already, but now I want this one, too. Sometimes I hate the fact that my job forces me to look at beautiful things all day 🙂

That is a beautiful dress. I wish I had the curves to pull it off.
