Reader-Nominated Dress of the Day: Sunlit angles sheath dress from Anthropologie

Anthropologie-dotd

This dress was nominated by Fashion Police reader Claire. It's £143.98 from Anthropologie, who say: "This knife pleated, satin dress glows with a hint of soft sheen, as if lit by late-afternoon rays." Quite.

Sorry – this dress is ugly. It looks like it’s been made out of a beige bin-liner…

I’m going to have to agree with the previous poster. This bag looks like it was made out of a paper bag. Not flattering at all

I have to agree with Hannah — I don’t like this. The way it’s cut looks like it would be unflattering; it doesn’t even look flattering on the model! And I’m really not a huge fan of beige clothes (too close to flesh-coloured for my taste).

I’m going to agree with the above posters… My first thought was that it was made of brown paper.

Yeah. This dress looks like a brown paper bag. I’m curious what the Fashion Police think of it. Does the posting of a reader-nominated DoD imply that the FP agree with the nomination? (I guess so, since they said “Quite.”)

Is this the sort of thing you wear when you want to send yourself through the post?
It should have a string belt to complete the package.

Maybe I am way off base but I read “quite” as sarcasm. Hard to tell. The dress is not my style to say the least.

Now that I look at it, it is kind of papery looking. Okay, a lot papery looking. I liked the style more than the color. But yes, I will swallow my pride and admit that the cardboard shade does pose a problem. Maybe in green or black then.

It’s not just the colour though, Claire… the material looks very cheap and nasty for it to be making those sort of creases on the model. Black WOULD make it look like a bin-liner, lols.

It looks plastic and hideously unflattering
like a crumpled old sack lunch secured with an elastic band
