Reader-Nominated Dress of the Day: Donna Morgan print matte jersey dress

Donna-Morgan-Print-Matte-Je

This dress was nominated by Fashion Police reader Gina, who felt it deserved to be DOTD because it’s cute and colourful, and also in possession of sleeves.

Sleeves on dresses are something of a rarity, much to the dismay of your constantly-cold Chief of Police, so if you think this one deserves the accolade it’s been given, it’s by Donna Morgan, and it’s $118 at Nordstrom.

Ugh. This dress has the flattering shape of a potato sack. I completely disagree with it’s DOTD status.
I can’t see it looking good on any woman. No matter what shape or size.
In my opinion, it is not Dress of the Day worthy. It isn’t much different than the smock you are running below it as a Just Say No!…
I was quite shocked to see it get DOTD. When I saw it, I was sure you were going to call it a crime.

This dress is 118 dollars? And it’s dress of the day?
I’m with Shel here…I think it’s ugly…it doesn’t look like anything other than Great Aunt Esther’s house dress to me…the model looks like she is thinking “Take the dang picture so I can take off Mrs. Roper’s miniskirt caftan will ya”

I agree with NJ ans Shelllllley, Ugh!! I think that this dress is all wrong. It could totally be described as a sack.

It looks ok on the model, but I can see the issue; it’s not the type of dress that would look good on lots of people. I think a belt might help get rid of the sack-like silhouette, and would break up the double-helix pattern a little. It’s an ok dress, I wouldn’t denounce it automatically as horrible; while it isn’t form-fitting, I think there is a time and place where it’s fine to wear something that’s not “accentuating your curves” all the time. To each his own, right?

    I love this dress!
It’s definitely been a while since I’ve seen a pattern print dress in pleasing colors and with sleeves!

Actually have this dress and it looks good on alot of figures. The print actually helps slim you and take your eye away from your size. I am a size 12. Also good length for us shorter women (5’4″). Love having sleeves!

I love this dress. Just bought it except mine is light purple in the white areas.
It is so cute on and doesn’t look like a potato sack at all. The material of the dress “holds” you in, makes you look slimmer, and moves with you flattering your shape. It’s the perfect length just above the knees. And I love the sleeves.
