Dress of the Day: Oscar de la Renta Saffron floral dress

Oscar_de_la_renta_2 Ah, the floral print prom dress! We’ve been seeing rather a lot of those lately, haven’t we?

We think this one by Oscar de la Renta is a particularly fine example of the style. Sure, it’s floral, and too much of that can be Very Bad Indeed, but the vivid green background saves it from being too demure.

Net-a-Porter describe it as "a modern, yet intriguing Park Avenue look" and are selling it for – gulp – $2540. If you feel like splashing some serious cash, you can buy it here.

What a hideous dress! It looks like somebody stole this from her grandma or the cleaning lady. Sorry, no love for this one (albeit the shape would certainly look nice in a more decent print).

I really dislike this dress as well. I appreciate the cut, but the print I find to be very off-putting.

I love it. I think the colour is gorgeous, it would look fabulous with a pair of red heels.

I don’t get what everyone’s so horrified about here. It’s a floral prom dress, why the shock horror?

What’s so wrong with it? I think it’s fabulous. You could wear it in so many ways! The colors are stunning.

At first look it looked like a messy painter’s palette…

What a monstrosity. I guess it’s nice to see Oscar de la Renta finally giving blind designers a chance.

The dress is amazing! I have never been so enchanted by any floral pattern such as this one. It is the first of the many ODLRS we have purchased. ODLR is one of the greatest design houses on earth. VIVA RENTA!
