Jessica Szohr
We have no idea what Louis Vuitton have to do with the lunar landing, but they threw a party to celebrate the 40th anniversary of it this week, and naturally the celebs took the opportunity to get their glad-rags on. We liked Gossip Girl Jessica Szohr's look here, with the very on-trend military jacket toughening up the floaty dress (great shoes, too!), but who do you think was the best dressed? More pics under the jump…

Fancy some eye candy for a Tuesday afternoon? Your wish is our command! Here are some images from Chanel's S/S 09 Haute Couture show, to give you an idea of the kind of thing you won't be able to afford to wear, unless you actually are a celebrity (and a A-list one at that…). Enjoy!

We would say more about this, but we’re currently writing this from a small space under the desk, where we’re cowering in horror lest the HAIR SUITS come to get us. And anyway, in this case, a picture really IS worth a thousand words, no?
Also: hair suits as part of spring/summer collections? Really?

Welcome to this week’s Wear or Die, folks, and before you ask, no, you may NOT choose to wear nylons over your face like these models. Because that would be cheating, wouldn’t it, and anyway, you’re going to want everyone to see you in your lovely new hot-off-the-Paris-catwalk duds, aren’t you? Well, OK, maybe not, but Wear or Die is the name of the game, and as that name suggests, your task is to choose one of these outfits to wear. If you don’t pick one? You die. And maybe you’ll want to, who knows…
Both of this week’s choices come from Maison Martin Margiela’s S/S 09 collection. Will you choose to wear the, er, hair suit on the left, though, or do you prefer the half suit/half naked body effect on the right? The choice is yours!

She’s facing forward, people. You see what they did there? It’s like Samara from The Ring, all grown up and newly dyed blonde. Looks like it’s going to be nightmares for us again tonight, then…

Paris Fashion Week is under way, folks, and if this is the shape of things to come, well, next summer is going to be interesting to say the least…
Consider the outfit above, for instance, from the Anne ValĂ©rie Hash show. We’re probably going to be having nightmares about this for weeks now. A sheer top, a bottom that will have all eyes on your crotch, a strange, drapey bit to the side, and let’s not even think about what this is going to look like from the back. No, seriously, let’s not even think about it. Moving along…

Of all the fashion weeks around the world, London is The Fashion Police’s favourite, because it’s at London Fashion Week that all of the youngest, freshest and, dare we say it, craziest designers tend to to come out to play.
Both of the outfits above come from Christopher Kane’s S/S 09 show, which was pretty darn cool to look at, it has to be said. Would you actually wear it, though? And if so, which outfit would you wear? Sadly for you (or perhaps not, if you like these), you don’t actually have the option to say “no” to that first question, because this is Wear or Die, and that means you have to chose one of these outfits to wear, or… die. Simple, no?
So, which one’s it gonna be?

When it comes to London Fashion Week, the show we’re always most interested in isn’t necessarily that of any of the big name designers or up-and-coming young stars (although those are always interesting too, of course). No, it’s the Topshop Unique show. Why? Well, because this is the show that, more than any other, gives us some degree of what real women will actually be wearing next season, and by “real women” we don’t mean fashionistas and people who see their clothes as a sublime, artistic expression of their inner selves, but, you know, women who shop in Topshop.
And what will the Topshop-shopping woman on the street be wearing in Spring/Summer 09, we hear you ask? Well, a litany of fashion crimes, basically. Double denim. Mom jeans. Jumpsuits. With hearts on them. In short, we’re canceling all annual leave for Fashion Police Officers, because we think next summer is going to be busy…
But of course, that’s just us. Take a look under the jump to see some more images from the Topshop Unique show, and make up your own mind…

As New York Fashion Week draws to a close, it’s time to look towards London – but not before taking a quick look back at the Crimes of New York, S/S 09. Chief of these had to Alexandre Herchovitch and his, um, "interesting" crotch flowers. We’re sure there’s a very deep and meaningful reason why these now exist in the world, but we’re equally sure anyone caught wearing them will be headed straight to the cells, so although we found NY Fashion Week to be a relatively crime-free affair this time round, we thought they deserved a special mention…

We’ve already gushed uncontrollably about the beauty that was the Christian Dior Fall Couture Show earlier this week, but now that the excitement has worn off ever so slightly, let us just take a moment to focus on the stand-out feature of that show: the sheer skirts!
If this show was anything to go by, it looks like sheer is the trend that just refuses to die – for now, anyway – although the beauty of the clothes made up for it, we think. Of course, there’s always the possibility of wearing something underneath these pieces to make you look a little less like you forgot to get fully dressed before leaving the house, but oh, if only they had "proper" skirts, we’d be able to love them that little bit more!
