Dress of the Day: Nautical print dress by Love Label

Nautical_dress

This may well be one of those "love it or hate it" dresses we feature every now and again. Some of you will probably find it a little too "costumey", while others will love its retro style.

For most of you, whether you love it or hate it is going to be a moot point anyway, because it’s out of stock in everything but a UK size 12 or 14, but if you happen to take one of those sizes, it’s £39.99 at Additions Direct.

So, which is it: love or hate?

I can’t decide. I think a lot of people would be able to pull it off, but it depends on body shape and personal style. Not for me.

I love the shape, hate the pattern. What are those things? Birds? Bats? Boomerangs? Plus the belt reminds me a bit too much of a wrestling belt.

I hate it. It looks so cheap and tacky, unlike the usual GORGEOUSNESS of most dresses of the day.

    I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE IT!
Thinking of buying it for a family wedding next weekend
i think a white belt or smaller red one would look better though! (cant Decide So Im Buying A few Belts & Shoes TO Match It Too!)
i really love the 50’s swingy shape of the dresss and i love the bird/seagull print too!
im just a stinge and never pay that much 4 a dress but i think i might splash out and buy it! haha! x

Oh, wow. That is INCREDIBLY tacky and hideous. I just had to comment on this monstrosity. I am all for costumes and theatrical-ness and unconventional style, and I do love the nautical dresses that you’ve had before, but this is hopelessly, unbelievably ugly. The print is indiscriminate fug, the white is too harsh and poorly placed, and the belt is garish and horrific, as well as too near the pockets.

If anyone bought this dress in a UK size 14 and wants to sell it, I need it for a nautical themed party I’m having. Thanks!
