Wanted! Norma Kamali's retro swimsuits

Norma_kamali_swimsuits

At around about this time every year, The Fashion Police are thrown into confusion as the stores start filling up with a steady trickle of spring/summer wear (And is it just us, or is that happening earlier every year now?) and even although the weather at the HQ remains icy, we suddenly start coveting things like swimsuits and sandals.

These Norma Kamali swimsuits icon are clearly not going to be of much use to us at this time of year (or, indeed, at any other, given the price tags - they're £315 each), but they do make rather nice eye candy for those days when we like to image ourselves as pin up girls... (What, you don't do that too?). Get them at Browns icon.

Wanted! Helene Berman Bow Beret

Bow_beret

As far as The Fashion Police are concerned, people don't wear hats often enough. Or they do, but they tend to be baseball hats, or woolly, tea-cosy style knitted creations, and where's the fun - or glamour - in that?

There's plenty of both fun and glamour in this bow beret by Helene Berman. We think "cute" is the only word for this hat, and even although August's Cosmopolitan cautioned its readers to never wear berets, ever, we'd have to respectfully disagree, and say that you can wear this one without any fear of Fashion Police arrest. We certainly will be...

Wanted! Maison Martin Margiela's bright red mid heel boots

Margiela_boots_4 OK, Martin Margiela, all is forgiven! We know we've had issues with you in the past, but these boots just about make up for it...

Now, we know the bright red is going to be way too much for some of you, but we're blaming it on our early Wonder Woman fixation, which has left us longing for a pair of red boots worthy of a superhero. We think these could be those boots: we love the demi-wedge heel, which helps give them a bit of a futuristic look, and while we'd be equally happy with a slightly less brash shade of red, this one definitely grabbed our attention at least.

These are £655 and will probably appall some of you because of the colour, but those who love them can pick up a pair at Browns.

Wanted! Nautical style 'Ahoy Vest' by Miss Braches

Nautical_style

Still loving the nautical look? We are, and we'll probably go on loving it, regardless of whether it's in or out of fashion. Currently sitting at the top of our nautical wish list is this 'Ahoy Vest' by Etsy seller Miss Braches. These are made to order, and are reversible, with one side navy, and the other side red, as shown above. We love the puffed sleeves and fitted waist, which will help to create that hourglass look, and think this would be the perfect way to dress up a pair of jeans, especially during the spring and summer months. If you think so too, you can buy it here.

Don't step on our blue suede 'Repul' knee boots from Faith

Bluesuedekneeboots OK, so they're probably not going to be the most practical boots you'll ever own but we love these blue suede 'Repul' boots from Faith, which have just the right amount of slouchiness combined with that brilliant bright blue colour to make us want to find a way to justify buying them.

At the moment, the £90 price tag is the only thing putting us off, but we're adding them to our Christmas list and hoping Father Christmas is kind to us - or that the price comes down in the sales.

If you'd prefer something a little less vibrant, these are also available in black, and you can buy a pair here.

Wanted! Flower corsage floppy hats from Oasis

Floppy_hat Yes, it's another hat. There are so many of them around this winter, and in every style you could possibly imagine, but we're particularly liking the look of this one from Oasis, which is £30 and also available in teal. It has an old-fashioned glamor to it that we really like, and the colours are perfect for winter, too.

That's not to say we'd actually buy this, of course. Oh hell, no. The Fashion Police tend to look like they're starring in a bad costume drama if they try to wear accessories like this one, but that doesn't mean we can't look...

Wanted! River Island's smart jacket with tails

Tail_jacket

We all know that a good blazer is one of those "wardrobe staples" fashion mags are always banging on about, and that's particularly true during the summer, when you can sling one on with a pair of jeans and a tank top and still look pulled together. A smart jacket is also a great buy during the Christmas party season, too, though, because few things look better thrown over a little party dress -just ask Gwyneth Paltrow if you don't believe us.

Sure, this black tail jacket from River Island isn't going to keep you warm, but if you're doing a quick "car to bar" hop, or just want something to keep you warm once you're inside your chosen venue, it'll help reduce the girlieness of some party dresses, and will look equally good with jeans and heels. Oh, and you'll get lots of use out of it next Spring/Summer, too. Which is precisely why it's "Wanted". Preferably alive.

Fantasy Buy of the Week: Monsoon's 'Laurette' top

Monsoon_top In the great scheme of things, £65 isn't exactly a huge amount of money, but given that it's as much (or more) than some of the dresses we've featured lately, this 'Laurette' top from Monsoon will have to remain a "fantasy" buy, for us, for the moment, at least.

Price aside, though, we're loving the bright blue colour (is it just us, or is there a helluva lot of bright blue around at the moment) and the rose-embellished, one-shouldered style, which will instantly dress up everything from a pair of jeans to a pencil skirt.

On the plus side, it also looks expensive. Ah well, maybe when pay-day comes...

Wanted! Jeffrey Campbell over-the-knee boots with wooden heel

Jeffreycampbellshoesbig

We've been going through a bit of an obsession with over-the-knee boots lately. The thing is, of course, over-the-knee-boots aren't always the easiest things in the world to wear, and they can come off a bit "Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman" if you're not careful, which is why we've been engaged on a seemingly endless search for the perfect pair. And why we now find ourselves rummaging around Fashion Police HQ, hoping to find enough spare cash down the back of the couch or something to buy ourselves these ones by Jeffrey Campbell.

We think these are just right: the wooden heel is thick and short enough not to look hookerish, while the brown, two-tone leather helps give them a bit of a vintage look. They're just high enough to hit above the knee, and the leather will hopefully just get better with age. Lovely.

They're $219 from Solestruck.

Wanted! Black twill front mac and cloche hat from Miss Selfridge

Coat_and_hat_2

After the various fashion horrors we've subjected you to today, we thought we'd give our eyes a rest by taking a quick look at the Miss Selfridge website, where we very quickly found ourselves coveting this very ladylike coat and hat combo, which will give a little bit of 40s style to your winter outerwear this year. Worn together, you'll look like one of the central characters in a Miss Marple mystery, but that may not be such a bad thing: the ruffle front on the macintosh gives it a modern twist, and as for the cloche hat, well, it's a damn sight more stylish than Toshop's pierrot number, at least...

The hat is £15 and the coat is £60. If you covet them too, you can buy them at Miss Selfridge.

Fantasy Buy of the Week: Paul & Joe Sister wool triple button coat

Green_swing_coat

We've started looking at winter coats already, and we were quickly distracted by this one by Paul & Joe Sister. At £300, it's at the lower end of the "fantasy" league, especially given that wool coats tend to be one of those things that people are willing to spend that bit more on, but it's still a bit too pricey for us, which means making it our Fantasy Buy of the Week is probably as close as we're ever going to get to it.

The bright green colour was the thing that first drew our eyes to this, of course, but on closer inspection, we were also impressed with the  shape - short swing coats like this have real 60s-style appeal, and can look particularly good, as shown here, with a mini skirt. If you don't want to show that much leg, though, it'll also look good with longer pieces. Get it at ASOS.

Budget Buy of the Week: stone encrusted feather brooch from ASOS

Feather_brooch Despite not generally being too keen on items that could have the word "bling" used to describe them, The Fashion Police will admit to being partial to the odd sparkly brooch or three, and to this sparkly brooch in particular.

It's from ASOS, and it takes the shape of a feather (yes, we know what we've said about feathers in the past, but this one isn't real, so we're letting it under our Bird Radar). We think this would look fabulous against a plain black sweater or dress, and would be just the right amount of "bling" (there's that word again - oh how we hate it!) to glam up an outfit without overpowering it.

Buy: Feather detail brooch, £18, ASOS

Wanted: Oliver Goldsmith's 'Audrey' sunglasses

Oloiver_goldsmith_sunglasse

The Fashion Police Commissioner has very light-sensitive eyes - so sensitive, in fact, that as far as she's concerned, sunglasses aren't just a summer fashion accessory, but an all-year-round investment. Or that's what she tells herself when she finds cute glasses like these ones by Oliver Goldsmith and wonders if she really needs another pair of sunglasses enough to spend £195 on them.

Granted, this is a gorgeous, classic style (They're probably not called 'Audrey' for nothing), but what do you think about designer sunglasses, Fashion Force? Worth a splurge, or would you rather save your pennies for something else?

Wanted! Black ruffle front jacket

Black_ruffle_jacket Apologies for bringing you two posts in a row about Dorothy Perkins this week, but we thought they deserved some major credit for this black, ruffle front jacket, which looks much more "designer" than "high street" to us. In fact, if we'd been shown this without knowing where it came from, we somehow don't think Dotty P's would have been our first guess...

The ruffles on the front are, of course, what sets this apart from every other black, blazer-style jacket we've been seeing lately, and we like the curved hem, too. Perfect for dressing up a pair of jeans or adding a bit of edge to a work suit, and only £28, too. Nice, work, Dorothy Perkins!

Wanted! Dog in pocket tee from Urban Outfitters

Dog_in_pocket Clothing with pictures of animals on it is normally a "no no" in The Fashion Police Rule Book (just another of our little quirks), but for some reason we're finding ourselves drawn to this cute little t-shirt from Urban Outfitters, which has a picture of a puppy peeking out of the pocket.

Ignoring the fact that the puppy appears to be wearing a hair bow (another "no" for us), and the fact that people might just keep staring at your boobs in this, or, worse, trying to pet the pooch, we think this is just cute enough for us to like it without wanting to vomit.

If you concur, it's £25 from Urban Outfitters.

Wanted! Faith's Bdusty heart-shaped handbag

Heart_handbag

The last thing The Fashion Police need in their lives (or, indeed, their bulging wardrobes) is yet another cutesy handbag, but when Faith insist on placing ones like this right in front of our eyes when we log onto their website, well, it's hard to resist, isn't it?

This is their Bdusty bag, it's £30, it's also available in black, and we'd put money on it not being available for very long, such is its general adorableness. We're going to try and look away now, lest we be led into temptation...

Wanted! Stripe bow pocket cardigan from Miss Selfridge

Stripe_bow_pocket_cardigan This little bow pocket cardigan from Miss Selfridge will be literally too cute for some of you, who probably want to vomit right about now, but if you're into that retro/pin-up-girl look, pair this with with either a 50's style circle skirt or some denim capris, add red nail-polish and lipstick and some heart-shaped sunglasses and you'll have the look down pat.

You'll also look a little like you're on the way to a fancy dress party, but don't worry, you'll be able to tone it down easily enough too.

It's £30 from Miss Selfridge.

Wanted! Pretty floral print bra by La Senza

Floral_print_bra We've tried to get into floral print, we really have. We see it on other people, and we think, "Hmm, pretty!" but every time we try to wear it ourselves, we inevitably end up looking like post-war spinsters, and find ourselves wanting to invite elderly ladies round to Fashion Police HQ for a nice cup of tea and a scone.

So floral print on dresses, skirts, etc? Nice, but just not for us.

On lingerie, on the other hand? Well now, that's a totally different matter, and when we discovered this pretty little bra on the La Senza website, we found ourselves cooing over it as if it were a small, fluffy animal.

Then we glanced at the price and discovered it was on sale for £5. Don't you just love it when that happens?

Shoe Porn: Moda in Pelle's peep toe bow sandals

Metallic_shoes

While these are just a little bit too much in the pink patent version they're also available in, we think that in this lovely pale gold they make the perfect pair of "special occasion" shoes. They're £80 from Moda in Pelle, which places them at the upper end of the high street price bracket for shoes, but we actually think they have a bit of a designer look about them, which may just justify the price for you. Also available in white, which could make a good wedding shoe, if you're a bride-to-be, although we'd still personally go with the gold - at least you'll be able to wear them after the wedding that way.

Wanted! Lovely loungewear from La Senza

Loungewear

Yes, folks, we're taking our obsession with bows into the bedroom, and we don't care how much you roll your eyes at us for doing it, because these little sleepwear sets from La Senza are just too cute to resist.

Actually, they're too cute to wear just to bed, either, so we'd put these to good use by wearing them to lounge around the house of an evening, and we'd probably be tempted to wear the cami tops outside of the house too, if only the one on the left didn't look suspiciously see-through.

Ah well, at £18 for a capri n' cami combo, we think it's a pretty good deal. But which one do we like best, we wonder?

Wanted! Pussy bow scarves from Oasis

Pussy_bow_scarves

We know what you're thinking here (spooky, no?) and yes, you're absolutely correct: there is no reason whatsoever that you shouldn't just tie a normal scarf in a pussy bow, rather than buying a special scarf, like these ones from Oasis, which are £10 each. This post, then, is here mostly as a reminder to ourselves to do that next time we want to add a bit of interest to a plain sweater or other dull outfit: after all, we're all about the bows here and this would be a cheap n' chic way to let us wear 'em...

Wanted! Topshop's Reno caged platform shoes

Platform_shoes These shoes. They're not new - in fact, they've been in and out of stock on the Topshop website for a couple of months now. And we want them. We love the huge platform, the caged vamp and the gorgeous nude coloured leather. We also love the blue and the brown versions, too - and we'd probably love them in any other colour Topshop cared to bring them out in.

No, we have absolutely nowhere to wear them, but we don't care. If you don't either, you can buy them for £60 at Topshop,

The mating habits of Christian Louboutin shoes

Christian_louboutin_shoes

Awww! Would you look at that: these Christian Louboutin pumps found each other so attractive they just had to start mating, right there on the Neiman Marcus website! It's hard to blame them, though: the bow, the peep toe, the sexy d'orsay cut... hell, we're getting hot just looking at them. And maybe if we were shoes, we'd want to mate with them too.

Actually, no, we think we've gone too far now. We'll stop. And those shoes on the left should seriously get a room...

Wanted! Margot patent clutch bag from Oasis

Clutch_bags

£55 is rather a lot to pay for a clutch bag, especially on the high street, but we think this 'Margot' clutch from Oasis could just be pretty enough to explain the price. This is a cute n' classy looking clutch which would work for smart day occasions (although clearly not for work, unless you really do like to travel light) or evenings out. It's available in 'clotted cream' and 'shadow grey' and has a bit of old-style glamour to it, which we think is no bad thing in a handbag.

Wanted: Courtney Crawford's patent slingback sandals

Slingbacks

Sometimes a pair of shoes takes a while to grow on you, and it's only after you've spent a few minutes wondering what you'd wear with them that you realise you really must have them.

Not these ones.

No, it was love at first look between The Fashion Police and these patent slingbacks by Courtney Crawford. How could it not be? These are so simple and elegant, and yet so sexy, that we loved them unreservedly from the moment we laid our beady little eyes on them.

And at least you don't have to wonder what to wear them with, either: shoes like these will work with anything (and if not, who cares?)

Wanted! Pretty ballet flats from Pretty Ballerinas

Pretty_ballerinas The Fashion Police don't often wear flat shoes, but the ones on offer at Pretty Ballerinas are almost enough to make us swear off stilettos for life. Almost, we said...

Right now we're particularly loving these 'Marilyn' pumps, which have a super-low cut vamp to let you show off some toe cleavage, and, best of all, an almond shaped toe, which we personally find much more flattering than the rounded toes most ballet flats come with.

These are 129 EUR, and are available in lots of different colours, both with and without the flower embellishment.

Wanted! Pussy bow shirt from ASOS

Pussy_bow_shirt

Ah, the humble white shirt! Subject of recent debate here at The Fashion Police, and the so-called "wardrobe staple" that turned out to be not-such-a-staple after all, according to our readers. We admitted to not being fans of white shirts, and to not actually owning any of them, but we didn't say we'd never change our minds, and if we were to splash some cash on something of the "shirt" nature, we think this pussy bow shirt from ASOS could be the very shirt to tempt us back to the fold.

Of course, we'd hate having to iron it, but we would enjoy feeling like 1960s secretaries, with pussy bows and pencil skirts. Maybe we shouldn't have admitted that? If you'd like to join us in the typing pool (or just to smarten up a pair of jeans), take your £25 over to ASOS, and choose between white and black.

Wanted! Topshop's gold asymmetric 'Rococco' sandals

Topshop_shoes

They say a thing of beauty is a joy forever and, looking at these gold strappy Topshop sandals, we think we'd have to agree. In fact, that metallic leather almost looks like real real gold to us. Sweet. These are £55, which is not unreasonable for a shoe of this calibre, and they're also available in black. Who wants black, though, when you can wear shoes that'll bring out your magpie instincts like this? Topshop, we salute you on a job well done!

Wanted! Jessica Kagan Cushman bangles

Jessica_kagan_cushman_bangl

We've spoken about Jessica Kagan Cushman's fabulous bangles here before, but the more we see of them, the more we like them. And also: want them. The ones above are currently available at Browns, where they're selling for £80 each. We particularly love the heavily ironic "Does this bracelet make me look fat?", but "New shoes cure the blues" seems like a pretty good motto for life, too...

Wanted! River Island's nude patent platform shoes

Nude_platforms_2

Hey, wouldya lookit that folks - River Island love this shoe! Which is a bit of a coincidence, really, because The Fashion Police are pretty taken with it, too. Actually, we're obsessed with almost all nude coloured shoes at the moment. They somehow manage to create the illusion that you have longer legs than you actually do, and we're just fine with that. The fact that these ones have a platform and skyscraper heel on them doesn't hurt either. (Well, it might if you tried to walk for miles in them, but hey, let's not quibble..)

Of course, that fabulous, leg-lengthening effect only works if your nude legs and feet are the same colour as the nude platform shoes. And ours.... aren't. In fact, we could probably get away with white shoes, given our paler-than-pale skin, but we still like these ones, and if you like them too, you can pick them up for £49.99 at River Island.

Wanted! Cute clutch bags from Accessorize

Clutch_bags

Accessorize. It's The Fashion Police's guilty pleasure, mostly because it's like a little Aladdin's Cave of pretty, shiny things like handbags, jewelery and accessories, perfect to dip into on a rainy day, or just when you're feeling like you need some "pretty" in your life. This week we've been drooling over the current selection of clutch bags. No, we don't have anywhere to wear them to, but we'd still totally buy all of these anyway (but especially number 1). Bravo, Accessorize - you just made our Monday that little bit brighter.

1. Portofino Embellished clutch, £30;  2. High shine snake oversized clutch, £20; 3. Bohemia Yoke clutch, £28; 4. Metallic diamante clutch, £22; 5. Concertina clutch, £22

Wanted! Lipsy panelled corset from ASOS

Panelled_corset_2

Also spotted on our patrol around ASOS this morning was this panelled corset by Lipsy, which we became instantly enamored with. Dusky rose in colour, and with a couple of roses on the bust, this is just so pretty, and would be the ideal piece if you're going to something you need to dress up for, but don't want to wear an actual dress. It looks great with the black jeans the model is wearing, but would also look good with a plain skirt, and you can always throw a cardigan or jacket over the top to make it a little more modest. £45 at ASOS.

Wanted! Woven bow clutch bag by Joanna Louca

It's like Joanna Louca looked right into our brains, skipped past all of the Crocs and harem pant horrors that were hiding in there, and went straight to the section marked "If someone were making us a clutch bag, this is what it would look like, please." Wanted! Christian Louboutin 'Rosazissimo' feather shoes

Christian_louboutin_shoes

Feathers don't tend to rank particularly highly in The Fashion Police's list of "things we like to see stuck onto our clothes", but we think we might be persuaded to make an exception for these 'Rosazissimo' sandals by He Who Can Do No Wrong, 'Christian Louboutin Yes, the feather embellishment looked a little bit like a pom-pom at first glance, but a closer look reaveals a drama-packed shoe that, as Net-a-Porter point out, would be perfect for the "boudoir". They're £400, but hey, who's counting?

Wanted! Kate Spade's 'Hera' pumps

Kate_spade_shoes

The combination of pink and red sounds like something The Fashion Police would normally hate, but it's hard to hate something so pretty, so when we spotted these Kate Spade 'Hera' pumps on the Nordstrom homepage, we just knew we had to show them to you. You can take it as read that we like the bow, but what we really like about these shoes is that sexy, curved side, which makes us want to take these and put them on show, even if we didn't get round to wearing them. If they float your boat, they're $318 at Nordstrom.

Wanted! 50's style full skirts from Oasis

50s_style

Every summer, The Fashion Police find themselves seduced by the lure of full-skirted, 50s style skirts, just like these ones from Oasis, which make us want to pull on a pair of bobby socks and head down to the local record hop. Well, maybe without the bobby socks bit...

These skirts are very fun and feminine, and if you don't want to look like an extra from Grease, you can wear them, like the ASOS model, with nude or tan coloured sandals and a simple little top. Then you can spin round like a dancer and watch those skirts twirl!

Wanted! Giuseppe Zanotti's folded multi-satin sandals

Designer_shoes

After falling out with Giuseppe Zanotti yesterday over his frightening gladiator sandals, we're ready to be friends with him again today - how could we not, when he's created these gorgeous purple sandals? These are $650, so are sadly outwith The Fashion Police budget at the moment, but if they weren't, they're the kind of shoes we'd have snapped up in a New York minute, even if we didn't have anywhere to wear them. While the bow alone would normally do it for us, we're also loving the mix of purple satins and the simple-but-still-gorgeous design. Get them at Shopbop.

Wanted! Chapeau Claudette wool Emi hat

Hat We can't think of a single place we'd wear it, and we'd look pretty odd walking around Fashion Police HQ in it, but we still love this wool 'Emi' hat by Chapeau Claudette, which is currently £28 at ASOS.

ASOS.com claim that this hat is "in the style of" Dita Von Teese, and we would have to agree that it does have a bit of retro glam chic about it, just like Dita. It;s available in bright red and "denim", which is the colour pictured. Wear with a pencil skirt, long leather gloves and the type of hairdo that requires lots of pins and spray...

Wanted! Miu Miu's bejewelled strappy sandals

Miumiushoes

It's Friday. It's been a long, hard week, and it's not over yet. Just to make matters worse, it's snowing outside. None of this matters, though, because look at what Miu Miu have made, to cheer us up? They're pretty. They're shiny. They've got big-ass jewels stuck to the heels. They're £395 at Net-a-Porter, and if we owned them we'd probably spend the whole evening worrying about keeping those jewels intact, but meh, who cares: at least they made us smile.

P.S. Yes, Miu Miu, we forgive you for those dragonfly boots. Keep up the good work.

Wanted! Valentino's pink bow peep toe shoes

Valentinodesignershoes We're still in a Valentino mood after this week's last-ever  couture catwalk show, so we thought the least we could do to pay tribute to the V-Man was to show you a great pair of his shoes.

Valentino has always been particularly skilled at creating bow-fronted peep toes, and the label is clearly staying on top of that pink shoe trend with these ones. These aren't the kind of bright pink that's difficult to wear, but if you sill find them a little too "Barbie" for your tastes, they're also available in black, for $645.

Wanted! Navy buton bow top from Dorothy Perkins

Bows

Bows are back. The Fashion Police say, "Hallelujah and praise the Gods of Fashion, because we're all about the bows." Of course, to be perfectly honest, it's not like bows have actually been anywhere, but the fashion powers-that-be have decreed them to be officially "back" for Spring, and Dororthy Perkins know it: it was love at first look between us and this navy bow top which is only £15, and will look fabulous in the summer worn with a pair of tailored shorts, or right now with dark denim jeans. It's cheered us right up, in fact...

Wanted! Retro style swimsuits by Jasmine Guinness. (And the weather to wear them in)

Retrofashion

Yes we know, we know: swimwear weather's still a long way away, but we can always pretend, can't we? Oli's Spring/Summer catalogue dropped through the door of Fashion Police HQ today, containing these gorgeous, retro-style swimsuits by Jasmine Guinness, in a selection of pretty prints. The one-piece made a comeback last summer, and will still be around this year. And hey, if you can't wear these to the beach (yet), there's always the pool at the gym*, because who says excersize has to mean a boring old black bathing suit, when it can mean pin-up girl style?

* Maybe not the one with the skirt, though. That could count as overkill.

Spotted this morning over at Style Bubble, these gorgeous bow waistcoats by Gaspard Yurkievich instantly went straight to the top of my "items I'm obsessing over" list. Bows will win me over every time, of course, but these ones are feminine without being frilly, and they're also reduced to half price and now available for 325,000 euros. I'll have one in each colur, please...

Wanted! Topshop's Puppy Tooth Jacket

Puppytoothjacket

OK, I admit it: I'm officially obsessed with Topshop at the moment. Can you blame, me, though? This cute little puppy tooth jacket (see, even the name makes me want to buy it, because who doesn't love puppies? And their teeth?) reminds me of Vivienne Westwood's front drape jacket, which looks very similar when you see it actually worn, and it has that kind of Gwen Stefani-style glamour to it that makes me want to wear it with tight jeans, peep toes and bright red lipstick. The short sleeves make it impractical for the Scottish winter, sadly, but come springtime, this will become the perfect piece.

Wanted! Fabulous, structured jackets by Vivienne Westwood

Viviennewestwood

One thing Vivienne Westwood can be relied on to do well is tailoring, as these two fabulous jackets prove. The jacket on the right is from the Anglomania label, and is a classic example of Westwood's quirky cuts (you really need to see it on to appreciate it fully - this picture isn't the best). The jacket on the left, meanwhile, is the Exaggerated Lapel Fitted Jacket by Red Label, and it had me from "exaggerated lapels" - I'm an absolute sucker for them, and the sheer drama of this piece has me drooling. It's £430 from Net-a-Porter, while the other is a "mere" £311.

Wanted! Leather cross-body satchels from Topshop

Leatherbags

I know things have been a little Topshop-centric here today, but they've been doing such sterling work recently (tie-dye skirts aside) that it's only right that they be recognised for it.

These gorgeous leather satchels are currently reigning supreme at the top of my "Things I Want" list (tell me everyone has one of those?). The black is the more practical of the two, so naturally it's the pretty pale green that attracted my attention. It managed to go out of stock in the few hours that elapsed between me book-marking it this morning and writing about it this afternoon (dontchya just hate it when that happens?), so if you want one too, you may have to do what I'll be doing, and refresh the Topshop website every hour, on the hour, in the hope of new stock arriving. Or, of course, you could just be sensible, and buy the black version, which is still available, and is £45.

Wanted! Schoolboy blazers from Topshop in grey and red

Schoolboyblazers

Balenciaga got us lusting after blazers last year, but Topshop have managed to pick up the baton and run with it, producing these cute schoolboy blazers in red and grey, for £60 each. I'm loving the little badge on the pocket (which would actually be easy enough to make yourself, and add to your own old school blazer,if you still have one. Sadly, those days are long since past for me...). These would look great with skinny jeans and a long, striped scarf, or wear with jodhpurs to emulate Balenciaga. If you're hard enough.

Wanted! Steven by Steve Madden's gold 'Gorgias' pumps

Stevemaddenshoes  'Gorgias'. Why, it sounds a little bit like "gorgeous", doesn't it? Which is appropriate, considering that these are the very shoes I've been searching for all my life. Well, for a few weeks, anyway.

Do you ever do that? Do you ever go out shopping with an image of an "ideal" shoe/dress/whatever in your head, knowing that the chances of you finding your dream item in real life are probably less than zero?
