Fashion Police Gold Star for… Marisa Tomei at The Creative Coalition’s 2009 Inaugural Ball

MArisa

This dress is super-simple – probably too much so for some tastes – but it’s so beautifully cut, and the material looks so luxurious when viewed in close-up, that we thought Marisa Tomei, who wore it to The Creative Coalition’s 2009 Inaugural Ball, deserved a gold star for it anyway.
We’re pretty sure this is the same dress Diane Kruger wore in white last year, and when we showed you the pictures, a lot of you said you’d prefer it in some other colour. Well, here it is in black: what do you think of it now?
One more picture under the jump, showing the V neckline at the back of the dress.

I simply love it. And I have to say I think it’s much more beautiful in black. I love the lines, the pockets and the back. Gorgeous!

It is really beautiful. I would have probably paired it with some offensively big earrings, but it really makes her look classy in a quiet way.

I think it’s a stunning stunning dress, but not for Tomei. Black is too severe for her. It makes her look a little old and haggard…it happened at the golden globes too. She’s still a lovely woman, but not in black. Beautiful dress, though!

Not my favorite. It is better than the one Diane Kruger wore, which made her legs look about a foot long, but it still just doesn’t do it for me. The material looks plastic-y, imo.

Love both versions, though I think I slightly preferred Kruger’s.

I love the dress and the whole look with the hair and the shoes, but for me, the tattoo on her foot isn’t working. It doesn’t fit with the whole vibe, and I I find myself wishing she’d covered it up, just for the night.
Are those Christian Louboutins? That one sole looks red in the reverse angle.

i like the dress in theory, but i agree with some… the cut isn’t flattering. the way it hits her just below the calves truncates her whole figure.

I love everything about this dress and the outfit except odd hair style. Very classy overall, IMO. Anyone know the designer of dress?

I like the dress but I don’t think it suits her. And the hairstyle makes her head look kind of big and her ears giant! If she’s going for a retro look, I think red lipstick would have looked much better.

I do not like that dress that woman is wearing its not the right shape for her and its to big and the make-up and shoes does not go with the outfit at all and that is what i like about that . good day
