Marc Jacobs Print Panelled Dress gives new meaning to the phrase “bandage dress”

marc-jacobs-print-dressIsn’t it amazing how £1,625 worth of dress can look so…well, cheap? All of those “bandage” bits loosely wrapped around the floral print backing, like a mummy’s bandages falling off its rotting flesh. We’re not sure the dress that lies beneath those “bandages” is any better, to be honest, but even so, our fingers are itching to go over there and start unravelling, just to see what would happen.

If, however, you love this dress just as it is, it’s by Marc Jacobs, and you can buy it here.

It looks like it’s this dress underneath: http://www.polyvore.com/cartoon_paisley_silk_dress/thing?id=10200833

The dress is really cute without the “bandages”… What a shame.

Oh, wow, it is that dress underneath!

So, you put some ugly black “bandage” swaths over the top, and you get to triple the price!

Ooh, well spotted! And you’re right, what a terrible shame to have mummified it like this!

With bandages it looks like something one could pick up for 20 quid from a clubbing shop down in Camden market.
