Lace gloves make a fashion comeback: what do you think?

Is it 1984, or is it 2010? Some days it’s hard to tell, especially when your favourite fashion websites start stocking lace, fingerless gloves – and yes, ASOS.com. we ARE looking at you!

We’re guessing many of our readers probably weren’t around to witness the first crime wave involving these, when Madonna’s devotion to then in the 80s spawned a thousand copy-cat crimes, so you’ll be able to look at these with un-jaded eyes and judge them without bias. What’s the judgement to be, though? Do you welcome the return of the lace gloves? If so, you can pay £5 for a pair at ASOS…

These gloves make me want to go to a fancy dress party as madonna so I have an excuse to wear them. I think some people could pull them off really well, me however, not so much.

I think I’d prefer them with the fingers still attached.

In music, cheesy vintage digital synthesizers from the 80s have also been making a comeback recently. So why not dress accordingly?

These can look really nice if they are longer. I’m not to fond of the ones that just cover the hand though.

I love them! Then again, I love most things 80’s (perhaps a bit tweaked to work today, but still oh so obviously 80’s), possibly because I wasn’t around the first time, so I might be a bit biased… 😛

    I LOVE wearing lace gloves.
They can really add a bit of spice to an outfit, and they feel grate on your skin.
I where them normally, black ones with jeans work really nicely, of course you have to where long sleeves or it looks at bit to dressed up.
    😀

I like historical costuming. That being so, these would be perfect for an early Victorian tea party.

As I have eczema on my hands I do welcome them, though would prefer them with longer wrists and slightly longer fingers.

    I love lace 🙂
    and I love gloves.
So obviously I am loving those too!
They can work really great to spice up a very simple outfit.
I’d be really glad if they were to make a comeback
