Jason Wu for Target lookbook: your thoughts?

Jason Wu for Target lookbook

So, we have to be honest: our main thought when we hear of another Target/designer collaboration is always, “Hey, Target! Open some stores in the UK, ‘kay?

Our second thought in this particular case was something along the lines of “pop socks with heels? Really?” We’ll be scarred for life now. Or for the next five minutes at least.

We’re sure you’re more interested in looking at the photos than hearing our thoughts, though, so we’ll let you get onto that. We DO want to hear your thoughts on this collection, though, so feel free to leave them in the comments box once you’re done with the gallery.

Jason Wu for Target goes on sale on February 5th, and will available until March 6th, only not really, because we all know there’ll be a crazy, end-of-the-world-is-nigh style stampede for it, as women fight each other in the aisles for another piece of mass-produced fashion. Will you be part of the rush?

A bit too cutesy for my liking but quite adorable overall. The ´´socks with heels´´ trend should not exist.

I’m usually not into the designer collabs for Target. I find a lot of the stuff is poorly made. Target’s own brands are better quality.

If it weren’t for the fact that I’d be paying a premium just because some dude’s name is wriiten on the tag, I’d totally buy several of those pieces. Hmmm… I said I wouldn’t buy any clothing this year, aside from critical pieces in line to be replaced. Does buying the cloth and making my own versions count?

Generally speaking I quite like a lot of these pieces, especially the little structured carry case and the pleated skirts. Won’t be buying them though!

Will I be? I’m not seventeen or a size 0 American, so no, I don’t think so. Jason Wu seems to neglect the fact some of us have actual boobs.

I love it. I think the real looks from the 50’s and 60’s (not the typical poodle skirt and twiggy looks but what they actually wore during that time) are really beautiful.

What? Didn’t Topshop et al. have these exact same clothes for sale a few years back? there’s nothing innovative here..

I actually love this collection, the prices are not wallet friendly for me though. I was thinking about buying my own Jason Wu inspired fabrics, making something basic but similar, because these pieces are too high for me, but I would totally wear everything! I also wished Clearance existed with these Collaborations.

I am going to do a blog post on the the Jason Wu inspired fabrics for the ones who are in the same boat as me. =]
