Introducing the $300 bum bag/fanny pack. Tempted?

Look, Colette, you can call it a “waist bag” and charge $300 for it all you like, but WE’LL still call it a crime of fashion and throw it into the ’80s throwback’ section of the Fashion Police jail, got that?

We sincerely hope this design is ironic, and not a sign that bum bags/ fanny packs/ whatever you want to call them are about to make a return to mainstream fashion, although at that price you’d have to be taking your irony pretty seriously. If you do, you can buy this here.

They keep trying to reintroduce these horrors and people keep rejecting them. the designers need to get a clue and give up.

I’m not too harsh on waist bags anymore, since I got one of those last summer. This one’s rather ugly, but I think mine is pretty cute. Here, take a look: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b75/skinny-puppy/3684828792_b1c83f1b7b.jpg

The Feb issue of British Vogue has a whole bit about how these are going to be the next amazing fashion accessory. No thanks.

I am not using a fanny pack even if my life depended on it. It’s very unflattering. And I don’t own anything that important that I have to have them hanging on my hips and butt.

oooh, but they ARE coming back.. (just like leg-warmers and neon-colors). You’d better brace yourselves.
Even “retired” models use ’em again..(http://www.withlovetyra.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=510&pos=0).. then again, it’s mostly ” old” people that grew up in the 80’s that embrace ‘m again

If it was messenger bag style and slightly cheaper then yes I’d buy! But not as a bum bag.
