Tailored harem pant crimes on the rise, Dries Van Noten is latest culprit

Tailored_harem_pantsWhat’s this? More tailored harem pants? Oh, say it ain’t so! We thought the ASOS crime was a fluke, a one-off, a never-to-be-repeated crime of fashion, but no, it seems that the dropped crotch is like the serial killer of the fashion world, and here it is popping up – or rather, dropping down – on these Dries Van Noten wool trousers. Admittedly, the dropped-crotch element of these creations isn’t quite as extreme as some we’ve seen, but it still ain’t pretty, and like the lace stirrup leggings and hooded all-in-one before it, we find ourselves wondering: where the hell would you wear them? Other than to the Fashion Police jail, obviously…

Can’t say I’m surprised to see Dries Van Noten jump on the harem pants train. Honestly, they almost look like normal pants but…I’ll never understand the desire for a roomy crotch.

This one is not bad at all, in my opinion. Course I might be bound for incarceration in FP jail straight away – but this works MUCH better than many a droopy diaper harem construction. I like it for a fresh take on the whole menswear-for-women thing.
You DO need a model figure to pull it off, but when has that stopped me from liking something before?

I was going to say I’d wear them to a Depends party, but I don’t want to start that rumor.

This weekend I bought a bike and was riding around wearing my boyfriend’s (large) shorts and it was just like having a dropped crotch pant on. It was terrible. I can’t understand why anyone would willingly wear something like that. The crotch kept catching on the bike in the most uncomfortable fashion.

Even without the dropped crotch they have a slight 80s feel to them, and that’s never a good thing. I’ll pass.
Btw, the fashion police seems to be a safe haven for us few sane left. Everyone else seems to love the diaper trend 🙁

It is a very 80’s look. I imagine it paired with a wide-shouldered jacket (with pads, of course) and big gaudy earrings.
Either that or “Can’t Touch This” gets stuck in my head, which is NEVER good.
